Hallo Community - kurze Frage zu Load Balancing und Durchsatzleistung

Hallo liebe Community,

Reale thin lvm belegung

Hallo,

bin proxmox Anfänger und da mich das thin-provisioning in eine böse Falle gelockt hatte, habe ich für mich einen script geschrieben mit dem ich die reale belegung von local-lvm anzeigen kann.

Code:

awk '\

$1 ~ /^vm-/{printf "\033[0;34m %s %s\033[0m\n",$1,$4;} \

{usedp=size/(all/100)}\
{freep=(all-size)/(all/100)}\
END{\

PVE showing high memory usage but VM is not

Hi
Simply put I have the following scenario:
I am running PVE 6.3.2 and have a VM with 16 Gigs of Ram and it was all of sudden consuming all the RAM which leads to the machine hanging up. So we increased the RAM up to 32 Gigs of Ram but nothing really changed. The problem is that the VM is not running any serious tasks. The imgs below tell it all.

This is the RAM usage as reported from the PVE-Admin panel:

The VM is centos and is showing this:

push sync job users - how many?

Hey everybody,

I can't quite wrap my head around how many users are necessary for sync jobs in push-direction in this setup:
PBS1 has 5 datastores with snapshots from different sources in them.
PBS2 also has 5 datastores which contain mirrors of all snapshots from their equivalent datastores on PBS1.
Right now, this is set up with sync jobs in pull direction on PBS2. Those sync jobs use a single user on PBS1 and a single remote config on PBS2.

Now that sync jobs in push direction are...

Passthrough SMB share to VM

$

I have an SMB share mounted on my host, which I want to be able to passthrough to a linux VM, which is connected to a VPN and does not see my smb share (VPN does not support split tunneling in linux). Is there a way to passthrough the SMB share directory to my linux VM? I am unable to add it via the normal hardware menu, as I don't want to create any new directories as a hard drive for this share, I want access to what is already in the SMB share.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm having jmeter iops/sec performance test with my proxmox ceph cluster;

- 3nodes cluster with ceph (proxmox 8.3
- I have 4 networks, All nics are 10G SFP, and 2nics are bonded for each network,
- mgmt/vm guest/ceph cluster/ceph public networks are using bonded 2nics(bonding active/backup) per host,

CEPH - osd problems every night

I have a 5 node cluster running Proxmox 8.0.3. It has been running fine for several months without any problems.

After rebooting 3 of the nodes last week, I've started to have problems with CEPH. Every night at around 02:05 (00:00 UTC) I see loads of error messages on all OSDs, and VMs lose disk access and become unresponsive. This goes on for around 30 minutes, and then then the system is back to normal again.

I'm unable to figure out if this is an external (network) problem, or if there...

Missing all backups after upgrade from Backup Server 2.1 to 3.0-2

Hello,

I just upgraded from PBS 2.1 to 3.0 and all backups in the UI disappeared. ALL the files are still present in the datastore tho. I suspect this is related to the new namespace feature.

I then edited my config in the PVE cluster, set a namespace and manually did a backup which worked fine, and I could see the new backup in the list. I then moved the ct/ and vm/ folders that were in the root of the datastore to the ns/<new namespace/ folder but even after a reboot...

Hi all,

I have a 3-node proxmox cluster and am also in the process of adding a 10gb network card to my nodes.

i want to bind the existing vmbr0 network with the MAC address to each node (so not to loose connectivity when adding the network cards), and if my understanding is correct, i should create a file called vmbr0.link inside the /etc/systemd/network/, paste the following inside:

Code:
[Match]
MACAddress=d8:43:ae:45:ad:7e
Type=ether

[Link]
Name=vmbr0

and then refresh the initramfs...

VNets SDN VLAN IP configuration

Hello everybody,

I have been using Proxmox for several years now, and I have recently been offered the opportunity to setup a 4-nodes cluster as a way to test things out.
My setup is the following, I have 4 nodes each one of them have the following network configuration:
- 1x Gbit NIC used in a Management VLAN
- 2x Gbit NICs used in a Storage VLAN linked with LACP
- 2x Gbit NICs used to pass other VLANs (~ 100)

The network configuration looks like so (on the four nodes):

Hi,

The SDN section in the "Datacenter" item from the GUI's left-hand list disappeared (it is visible very briefly when the page load, but disappears in a fraction of a second. I cannot create any software-defined network anymore. When trying to create one using command-line, I get:

Code:

No 'create' handler defined for '/cluster/sdn/zones'

Hallo Zusammen,

Danke.

AMD Ryzen 5 8600G w/ Radeon 760M - Working passthrough of this GPU?

Heya, can somebody confirm that passthrough with this onboard Radeon is working...and how?

Mainboard: ASUS B650-PLUS, BIOS 3067 12/10/2024

In the past I really hated the passthrough with Vega64 because of the reset bug. Not nice, but it worked. Switched to GTX 1050 Ti, worked better, arranged with the lesser performance (no games).

Now first passthrough attempts with this new hardware (ASUS B650-PLUS) resulted in crashes/black screen/nothing. I am reusing my GTX 1050 Ti right now, but if...

Sorry another how to port forwarding?

Hello

First of all I'm sorry because I'm sure I'm asking another variation of the same question that you all see , but I couldn't find something to help me.

I'm coming from a dev/QA tester background, I discovered ProxMox and I thought "what a nice tool for my game servers". I do web and python dev, I know how to install and deploy my discord bots, game servers, web servers, on Ubuntu, I know how to forward ports on my home router. I have a "ok" understanding of the technical context.

I...

Well,

It's released today and it brings with it a lot of good features:
  • RAIDZ Expansion (#15022): Add new devices to an existing RAIDZ pool, increasing storage capacity without downtime.
  • Fast Dedup (#15896): A major performance upgrade to the original OpenZFS deduplication functionality.
  • Direct IO (#10018): Allows bypassing the ARC for reads/writes, improving performance in scenarios like NVMe devices where caching may hinder efficiency.
  • JSON...

Proxmox VE helper scripts do nothing

Hello,
I built my first home server with a friend. The server is at his house so we use tailscale so that I can remote in and work on it when need be. I'm trying to use a proxmox helper script to install jellyfin but when I run the script it doesn't do anything. I looked it up and saw several posts saying it's prob a DNS issue but I don't really know what that means since I'm new to all of this stuff. How can I make the script work?
