Boot Probleme - OPNsense -not a bootable disk

Hello.
I'm trying install OPNsense on Proxmox 8.2.2
but i receive the error"not a bootable disk"
I change the boot order, i try change some hardware in virtual machine.
But don't works.

Hello!

This is my first time starting a thread on here, but I've posted on an already existing thread about my problem. No internet on the pve host

Good Moring,

My host pve machine, lost internet connection after working for several minutes, but the LXC has internet perfectly. I hope someone can hkep me with it. Here is my interfaces:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface enp1s0 inet manual

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
address 192.168.0.19/24
gateway 192.168.0.1

I run a small single-node ceph cluster (not via Proxmox) for home file storage (deployed by cephadm). It was running bare-metal, and I attempted a physical-to-virtual migration to a Proxmox VM (I am passing through the PCIe HBA that is connected to all the disks to the VM). How spindown a passtrought SCSI HDD from OpenMediaVault VM

Hello, everyone

i have a VM with Openmediavault installed, i attache a sata hdd to OMV VM with
Code: 
qm set 100 -scsi2 /dev/disk/by-id/<id disk>
I can spindown my hdd from proxmox shell with
Code: 
hdparm -Y /dev/sdb

but i can't spindown my hdd from my OMV vm shell and return this output

this value is returned (and hdd not spindown)

cannot ping outside proxmox vm

Hi everyone,
I have recently remade my home NAS. The setup is the following :

Truenas core as the "root OS"
Proxmox on a VM inside truenas
vm 1 (windows)
vm 2 (kemp)
CT 1 ( ubuntu)

Everything is on the same network : 192.168.69.0/24, gateway and DNS are both 192.168.69.254
-I can see the VM from my router (ip and shows as connected),
-I can ping and download from proxmox VM
-I can ping in-between VM

Micron 7450 Max - Black Install Screen

Hello all,

I recently bought a 400GB Micron 7450 Max NVMe drive to replace a Seagate FireCuda 530 in my HP Elite Mini 800 G9 with an Intel Core i9-12900T and 64GB DDR5 RAM.

After replacing the drive, it seems like I can't install Proxmox, I just get a black screen and the 'HDD' light is solid white like if the drive was being used (no flashing). No Proxmox screen with the option to select GUI or CLI.

The BIOS settings are the same as how I had Proxmox installed on the FireCude 530.

There is currently bug in the kernel which breaks tools like hdparm and hddtemp.

so short story im pretty new at proxmox and i just installed like a regular proxmox installation and i was first using the first router diff wifi provider to but after that i went to plug into a new router which is new provider and diff router and i try to plug it on my new router and run proxmox access the web via my computer/laptop and it doesnt work i try configure anything i just need help why it doesnt i try reinstall and everthing idk it seem i lost hope for 3 days straight figure it...

ich habe lange Zeit (>10 Jahre) eine Synology als Backup und Photo-Verwaltung in der Familie eingesetzt.

Nun habe ich mich durchgerungen, als Ersatz für dieses überalterte Synology-NAS ein DIY-Nas aufzubauen.

Hello everyone, I am a beginner with proxmox and have just started about a week ago. I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre that I want to set up as a homeserver, and just to play around and learn stuff. PVE Firewall and MTU little trap

I just stumbled across a little nasty trap.

When not setting the firewall check mark in the Network adapter, MTU doesnt seem to be set or taken from the Bridge by default.
However, the Moment you activate the firewall Check mark MTU will be forced set to 1500


This can be a very nasty trap for those of us running smaller MTUs for various reasons. one would be SDN with some QinQ or similar.

Best thing is simply always enter 1 as MTU in a network card where you activate the firewall...

nachdem ich jetzt einige Wochen Erfahrung mit Proxmox VE und PBS sammeln konnte, wird es Zeit das Thema Backup zu konsolidieren und auf eine dauerhafte Lösung umzustellen. Ich bitte um Review und Kommentare zu meinem Plan:

In den Backup sollen:
  1. VMs und CTs eines Proxmox VE Clusters (Voll-Backup)
  2. die Nodes des Clusters (File-Backup)
  3. ein weiterer x86 Linux Server (File-Backup)
  4. drei weitere Raspberry Pi Linux Server (File Backup)

Heyho I have a problem.
I have a StorageBox from Hetzner and wanted to use it as a Datastore for my PBS. I mounted it via SSHFS with following entry in /etc/fstab:

ich hatte eigentlich vor demnächst von TrueNAS zu Proxmox zu wechseln. Nun bin ich aber unsicher, ob ich wechseln soll, da ich eben das erste mal (leider) einen TrueNAS Backup einspielen musste und gesehen habe wie super die das gelöst haben.

Boot problem - replaced the SSD of my server and unplugged some external SDD

Hi there,

am quite new to proxmox / linux world and got some problems after I did replace my SSD drive in my m720q and disconnected some external SSD that I mounted beforehand.
Now Proxmox tries to boot but I do end up in emergency mode and can't fix this problem.

Did try to add the new SSD to etc/fbstab which seems to work but it appears the problem is old external drives that are not recognized anymore. Strange thing is, I cannot see them in etc/fstab so I am really lost getting rid...

proxmox as a desktop

good morning,

So, contrary to popular opinion, I've decided to try to use proxmox as a primary desktop. Conceptually, correct me if I'm wrong, it seems plausible to have GPU pass through to a vm of windows 11 and then run proxmox off of integrated graphics. Testing this concept has not been fruitful leading me to research a bit more. Solutions:

  1. As I've initiated my GPU to passthrough to a VM, maybe i can create a passthrough for my integrated graphics CPU to Proxmox/lightdm...
