Hi,
My proxmox node is running for sametime.
Today after same changes i try to execute "update-initramfs -u"
but getting this error.

root@proxmoxlandet:~# update-initramfs -u
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-6.8.12-1-pve
Running hook script 'zz-proxmox-boot'..
Re-executing '/etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-proxmox-boot' in new private mount namespace..
No /etc/kernel/proxmox-boot-uuids found, skipping ESP sync.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to make changes to /etc/issue without them being overwritten at boot. Does anyone know how I can persist these changes? I've noticed that in PVE, there's a service called pvebanner that handles similar tasks. Is there something equivalent available for Backup Server, or is it handled differently?

HI,

I imported a Windows 2022 VM from Esxi to ProxMox.
It does not boot, and I get this error:

"inaccessible boot device"

I understand that I need to install VirtIO drivers, but how it that done, since I cannot boot into Windows?

I am building out a 3 node cluster for home lab use. Each node has (2) 2.5 gb nics which currently plug into 1 gb ports on my switch, (2) SFP+ ports, and (2) 40 gb ports. I currently have the 40 gb configured in a mesh network. I would like to separate everything out to avoid network bottlenecks as much as possible.

My thoughts for which nic to use for which service (correct me if there are incorrect assumptions or better ways to do any of it)

I've got as far as working out that /etc/pve is a fuse mount and that I should use the gui to replace the certs (although it would be nice to automate this)

So, more for my leaning, is there a better way to copy these into place through ansible that I'm missing please?
Or what am I missing here about why it's not copying please?

Im running proxmox on a 6 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9500T CPU with GPU passthrough.
I have one vm running and using GPU.
Stopping the VM and starting a lxc container with /dev/dri wont work

I currently have the problem that my Proxmox host crashes at random times.
My first thought was that CEPH was the problem, so I removed it from my cluster.
After removing CEPH, everything runs more stable but I still experience host crashes.

ich habe eine OPNsense als VM auf einem PVE-Host und kann mich vom Heimnetz per VPN dorthin verbinden. Kann man das so bauen, dass man durch die OPNsense auf die Proxmox-Oberfläche kommt? Der Server hat nur eine Netzwerkkarte, aber mehrere öffentliche IPs (von denen eine jetzt auf den Host zeigt und eine auf die virtualisierte OPNsense).

Ich grüble da gerade. Geht das überhaupt?

We want to build a 3-node proxmox cluster with ceph. Ceph drives will be 3.2TB x3 NVMe SSDs on each node. Among them 3 NVMe would be for ceph. Rest 2 will be in RAID-1 mode for Database server.

Additionally, 240GB x2 SSD would be for Operating System.

Hi,

I upgrade virtio to virtio-win-0.1.262.iso with two Windows VMs (Win Server 2016 and Win Server 2022). Proxmox is crashing.

Hello, I have recently installed Proxmox 8.2 on an Optiplex but was running into issues when connecting to the web GUI.
My home network is just on a 192.168.0.0/24 subnet. I set the default gateway in the options as 192.168.0.1 (which is correct) and put the server as 192.168.0.10/24. It is connected directly to my router with an ethernet cable.

Hello!

I have a Windows 10 VM under current Proxmox version (8). The VM is configured with Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. Windows detects that the VM can be updated to W11 and periodically prompts me to either install now o “maybe later”.

My issue is that I need this VM to stay on W10 for software compatibility reasons with legacy hardware so the update is a non-starter until the hardware breaks or needs to be replaced.

I'm running proxmox on a PC that has a wireless interface (wlp2s0) and I've bridged it into vmbr50. I'm running hostapd in order to turn the wireless interface into an AP. I have everything working. When I run "brctl show" it lists wpl2s0 in bridge vmbr50. Hello!

I'm a total and complete newb on Proxmox, heck, using this has made me realized even the things I thought I knew, well, I don't. At all. I've created a Proxmox VE that lives atop Debian 12 on an Intel NUC for hosting a few LXCs for a Home Server using mostly ttecks's scripts, (for now, all of them).
