We are currently experiencing a problem with the delivery of emails to Microsoft 365 Mail Server.

We receive the following error message when delivering emails:

Random freezes due to host CPU type

Hey guys,

I am facing random freezes of the whole on Proxmox 8.2.4 with the newest kernel (also older kernels), the newest microcode updates, disabled c-states, Eco mode on Ryzen 9 7950X. I found out that the issue just occurs if VMs have the host CPU type and especially with Windows VMs. I have to reboot the host manually that it cames back, I cannot type anything, it just don't respond anymore. Has anyone the same issues and a solution for it?

Proxmox host can't access the Internet.

Hi all, I'm a super noob so excuse my lack of knowledge.

I was trying to install packages through the host but found that it timed out. Pinged google and also timed out. I can ping my gateway ip and local ips just fine. I have a few lxcs that DO have internet and can ping google just fine. The weird thing is that the host did have internet a few days prior, unsure when it stopped have internet access. Help with PVE firewall configuration

Hi, we've never used pve-firewall and now trying to consider it for a server.
This is an OVH installation so we have a host IP and additional ones assigned to a KVM.
I did some testing but none of the rules applied to the KVM itself seemed to work. At the host level they worked but only after a restart.
So my questions, to confirm we can use it or not are:
- can I have it activated at a KVM or CT level only? By that I mean, firewall running without rules on the host.

Hallo Leute,
ich teste mich gerade durch Proxmox durch und habe eine Verständnisfrage.

Aktuell betreibe ich ein ZFS Raid 10 mit 4x Samsung 990 pro
ashift 12 und Blocksize 8k (soll mal ne SQL Datenbank rauf), compression lz4
Es läuft eine nackte ubuntu VM auf dem Host.

Wenn ich einen CPU Sysbench auf dem Host und innerhalb der VM mache, habe ich fast identische Werte.
Mache ich einen Memory Test, ebenfalls fast identisch.

kvm runs in user.slice cgroup instead of qemu.slice, flooding syslog

Running a VM via the shell (to institute additional command line parameters) results in the syslog being flooded with qmeventd events like the following:

PVE resizing root / data

Hi there all,
Is there an easy way to resize both the root and data logical volumes?
Here are my details on that drive (hosting the PVE installation). I actually do not use the "data" logical volume at all and would rather allocate it's space to the "root" LV.
My goal being to have a bigger non thin "local" directory to store local backups and ISOs etc..

Problem with one VM network

Hello there,

I found a very strange problem with one VM.

I run a standalone Proxmox with 3 VM (home server)

1. OPNSense Firewall
2. Home Assistant
3. Alpine linux VM , i use it a docker host

My problem is 3. VM, it unexpectedly i move file only one way (read it) but can not able to copy any new file. I try lot protocolls, for example cifs, sftp, scp, web upload (i run a file browser )

Other devices are same subnet so no any firewall rules or something. On alpine, no firewall...

I tried to install PVE 8.2 on new build system. It is build with AMD RYzen 5 4500, Gigabyte A520 DS3H V2 with BIOS FEb, 3*34 GB Kingsten DDR4-3200, WD Black SN850X with 2TB, nividia Geforce GT730-4H-SL2GBD5 and a 16 TB HDD.
Memtest shows no errors.
I build the usb Stick with rufus and had no problems. The sticks is shown at boot as UEFI:KingstonDataTreveler,Partiotion2 and Kingston-Data-Treveler. Boot from both partitions shows the same results. I have tested with 2 different sticks und...

Hey zusammen! Ich habe gerade ein ziemlich wildes Problem. Ich habe einen LXC für Wireguard erstellt und die notwendigen Zeilen sowohl in der config des LXC selbst als auch auf dem Host entsprechend der OpenVPN-anleitung hinzugefügt.

Allerdings scheint es so, als dass ich keine Verbindung herstellen kann. Außerdem, im Gegensatz zu den anderen LXCs, funktioniert ein einfaches "ping google.com" in der Konsole des Containers nicht – es gibt nach ein paar Sekunden einen Timeout-Fehler. Wenn ich...

Proxmox an network connections

i have a new proxmox install. i have setup several vm's which all get internet access. I can connect to the proxmox web interface but from the shell(for proxmox) I have no internet., using a wired connection.I tried to apt install -y wireless tools.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't edit any options (guests, pve etc)

New 8.2.4 install.

I can't edit any options in the web interface. For example, I forgot to turn on "start at boot" for one of the guests but I can't edit it.
All edit buttons etc are greyed out.

I think my user isn't privileged, but I am using the unconstrained root@pam user?!

Any ideas?

Trouble Installing Nvidia Drivers for Quadro P2000 for vGPU

Hello!

I currently have trouble installing the drivers for my Quadro p2000.
In the same System I also have a HBA Installed that is passed through to a VM, so IOMMU is enabled. For this I followed the Proxmox Guide.

I have blacklisted the nouveau driver and removed the blacklist entry for nvidiafb and updated the initramfs

VMs won't start - QEMU Binary issue

I've been having trouble since I tried to enable a thunderbolt drive connected to my server. Now whenever I go to start a VM or create a new one, I get the following error

Migration from Vmware to proxmox

I have a large number of VMs to migrate from VMware to Proxmox. I used the Proxmox import wizard, but I'm encountering a problem where all the VMs get stuck at the boot stage and won't start. I've also tried converting the VMDK disks to QCOW2 format, but the issue persists. I've experimented with different controller types, and disk including IDE and SATA, but the VMs still won't boot. i have also used a backup/restore process.

vm migration in storage replication

I have 3 nodes, but only two in storage replication in zfs, currently from pve02 to pve01, and pve03 only in lvm as a voting member, my cluster and my vms were created in pve02 on a server weaker than pve01 to make sure that the workload would work well, but as my pve01 server is a newer server, I would like to move my vms to it and leave the operation on it, if I go to the vm and do a migration on it can this somehow cause a problem? Is there any risk in transferring the vm to pve01 and...

Hello there,

I just updated to a new Proxmox Version. But once it was done I noticed connection interrupts across all containers and proxmox services.
After I have done some research I found: "pveproxy[]: detected empty handle".

I already took the following steps (without success)
  • looking for new updates
  • I tried restarting the following services:
    • pve-cluster
    • pveproxy

Hello there,

I just installed Proxmox VE 8.2.2 on a new Supermicro server hardware with a Broadcom CM57416 NetXtreme-E Dual-Media 10G RDMA Ethernet. Installation works like a charm and the Proxmox boots up to the point where I am shown the IP and port of the web interface.
