Install Proxmox(I had to delete it) on it's own hard drive, My old VM is install on a different Hard drive(I did not wipe it, I need the data in it) can someone direct me how to attach the exiting hard drive to proxmox?

i have a new proxmox install. i have setup several vm's which all get internet access. I can connect to the proxmox web interface but from the shell(for proxmox) I have no internet., using a wired connection.I tried to apt install -y wireless tools.

Proxmox install on nmve ssd connected with pcie adapter on dell r720xd.
I want to use Proxmox VE on my Dell R720xd Server. So I booted on the USB stick and installed Proxmox on the pcie nvme ssd.Unfortunately when I boot the Bios doesnt detect my ssd, because it doesnt support pcie connected ssds. So I installed Ubuntu on a USB stick with Grub in hope to first boot onto grub on the usb stick and then select the pcie ssd to boot on.

resize LVM partitions
Hi i would like to resize the root and LVM partitions. I am using larger disks but on install proxmox takes up so much space. I keep all my templates, ISOs, etc on a network drive so i would like to reduce the size of the root partition.
How do i go about doing this and what is the safe limit? is 32GB plenty for this?

Backup to datastore on Samba share causes server to soft-hang (kswapd0 high CPU)
Trying to backup to a datastore stored on a remote Samba share (Hetzner Storage Box) causes the server to become almost completely unresponsive after some amount of data has been uploaded to it. On the remote end, upload usually times out when this happens. Before this happens, data upload appears to work fine. (I did try monitoring network activity on the PBS system, found nothing unusual).

vswitch troubles at Hetzner
Hi I've got 6 x ax102 servers at Hetzner
plus a 1G switch for corosync
plus a 10G switch for ceph
Proxmox installation went smooth (from the iso, via kvm)
but as soon as the hosts were up I noticed that they couldn't ping each other
on the public IPs.
(inbound and outbound traffic was fine, they just couldn't see each other on their public IPs)
I 'fixed' this first problem with a 'pointopoint' definition
and a dummy virtual bridge
(not very proud about that anyway)

Installing docker in an lxc container on a proxmox 8 breaks Disk IO graphs
I've tried different templates, different docker installation options, disk IO graphs always disappear. The Disk IO graphs disappear immediately after installing the docker.

Auf die Instanz kann ich per ssh zugreifen, aber die Applikationen auf dem Server sind alle nicht mehr erreichbar. Wie auch immer, wahrscheinlich habe ich den Server falsch aufgesetzt. Beim einloggen per ssh kommt folgende Fehlermeldung: No Space left on device. Unter „Hardware“ habe ich den Plattenplatz schon vergrößert, das hat aber keine Auswirkungen.

disband and recreate cluster that will never fully reconnect
I had a cluster of 3 proxmox servers and added a 4th, however each time i try i can barely login to the GUI and they barely connect to each other.
3 of them have existing VMs i cannot simply delete. Is there a way to delete the cluster and start again without losing the VMs? I remember that in order to join a cluster the host needs to have no VMs, is there a way around this?

[debating] Should I run nutd directly on PVE or as a VM/container?
Hey everyone,
I have a UPS connected directly to my PVE host by USB, I would like to monitor it with nutd, my gut is that since nutd is a small daemon and also since if the battery gets low it needs to anyhow do drastic things like shutting down the host it should just run directly on the host instead of in a container/VM but I see a lot of the guides going in the container/VM direction.
What are the pros/cons here?

Hardware:
AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
64 GB DDR4 ECC
4 x 16 TB HDD 7200
We‘re running pve and pbs as VM with a sw raid-5. Additionally we have another VM with some NAS stuff on same node (not that much IO). We‘re backup about 35-40 VMs from 5 different nodes. Used backup space is about 6 TB in pbs but will grow in future.
