Proxmox reboots after "Purging GPU memory"

Hi,

My Proxmox server is sometimes rebooting in the night. The message "pve kernel: Purging GPU memory, 0 pages freed, 0 pages still pinned, 1 pages left available." is then thousands of times in the log within a timespan of ~5 minutes.

Can someone help me to fix this?

Unable to access the GUI after automatically changed its IP

Hi Guys,

I was unable to access my GUI after automatically changed the IP address.
I also tried to changed back to its original IP still unable to reached the web GUI.

I did some troubleshooting unfortunately still same issue.

Can't add more than one port to bond

Hello everyone,

I just tried to create a bond with multiple interfaces but I can't add more than one interface to the bond.

I add interface enp217s0f2np2 to tghe bond and the interface is accepted. If add a second interface enp217s0f2np3 the message

The interface name is correct

Container Creation Failure on Nodes 1 & 2 with Proxmox VE 8.2.0

I'm encountering an issue when trying to create a container on two of our nodes (1 & 2), while it works without any problems on node 3. Below is the error message I receive:

Latest Proxmox update (8.2.2) renamed network interfaces

After running the update this afternoon I was shocked to find out that the server wasn't coming back. On the console I noticed that the Proxmox server is indeed running, but the network interfaces were no longer up. It looked like some of their names changed (e.g. ens259f0 into ens259f0np0).

After some investigations I found an older thread where such an "np0" attachment already happened in the past, and that I have to change /etc/network/interfaces manually to adapt to the new naming...

Complete USB bus crashing - When using external SSD - SATA to USB 3.0

Never had this in the past, I regularly copy files from my Host machine to an external SSD (2TB), but now when doing this the minute I start a file copy or Rsync etc. the whole USB bus crashes & no USB port is available until I reboot the machine.

I believe this problem began extremely recently - IIRC I did this 3 weeks ago - so I imagine this problem began with the latest kernel update or one of the packages - I keep this home lab PVE instance up to date all the time...

Auf dem 1. Knoten befindet sich eine VM auf dem ZFS, die Replikation auf den zweiten Knoten ist aktiviert. alles funktioniert gut.
Wir haben jedoch festgestellt, dass die ZFS-Festplatte ständig ein Vielfaches aufzeichnet, als die VM schreibt. pro Tag 2,5 TB. Natürlich werden eine Größenordnung weniger Daten auf die VM geschrieben. Sag mir, in welche Richtung ich schauen soll?

Absichern "Offsite-Backup" im selben LAN

Das Thema ist einen zweiten PBS im selben LAN fuer Offsite-Backusp zugaenglich zu machen. Diesen aber so gut wie moeglich gegen Ransomeware und Hacker abzusichern.
Der Plan ist es einen zweiten autonomen PBS aufzusetzen, der mittels Pull einen Sync-Job vom Haupt-PBS holt.

Koennte ich dies Firewall-maessig so absichern, dass ich vom Haupt-PBS alle Verbindungen outgoing zum zweiten PBS blockiere und lediglich 8007 outgoing vom Secure-PBS auf den Haupt-PBS erlaube? Oder welche Ports werden...

I need help...I'm very unfamiliar with anything Linux, but I want to stick with it to learn more as I go. But at this point...I'm sort of frustrated. I built a server and went through the Proxmox install process with the GUI prompts. I had originally gotten everything working fine and was able to login to the web GUI. But, then something happened and the host was no longer reachable. So, I wiped everything & started fresh as nothing was configured yet.

Hallo

Folgendes Szenario: Wir machen täglich Backups von mehreren VMs auf einem Cluster. Gepruned wird auf dem Onsite-Backup und separat auf dem Offsite-Backup. "Removed Vanished" ist NICHT aktiviert. Was passiert jetzt, wenn mehrere der VMs veralten oder der Kunde geht etc. und diese dann in PVE gelöscht werden. Bleiben die dann rein theoretisch ewig auf den beiden PBS-Servern oder stellt - nur eine mögliche Spekulation - PBS irgendwann fest, daß die VM nicht mehr existiert und werden dann...

Hallo Zusammen,

nachdem wir gestern einiges an Probleme mit unserem Proxmox Cluster hatten, haben wir zwei VMs bei denen die Replikation nicht mehr ganz hin haut.

From ESXI 6.5 to Proxmox - HomeServer - I have questions.

Hey,

I have the following HomeServer.

AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
ESXi 6.5
16GB RAM
Adaptec 5405 without BBU - RAID 1 (2x 3TB NAS HDD)
256GB NVME
128GB SATA SSD

3 VMs (Nextclooud, Linux VM with Nodered, ioBroker etc, Windows Server)

And now I got 3x 14TB (2x for RAID1, 1x as Backup-Storage --> Proxmox Backup-Server? I also have an Mini-PC with AMD A6-5000 with 8GB RAM, that would be great for that Backup-Server) and want to get rid off the 3TB HDDs.

Most of our guests will fail to resume when being live-migrated from one node to another. This seems to happen on all guests, however; a newly created guest will not initially have the problem but after an unknown amount of time; the problem will surface. The error we see is "tunnel replied 'ERR: resume failed - VM XXX qmp command 'query-status' failed - got timeout' to command 'resume XXX'". just checking the proxmox to utilize in my lab, I am new here.

Installed and configured VE 8.2.4, trying to migrate the VM's form ESXI 6.7 to Proxmox using Import Wizard.

AMD GPU inaccessible after VM Poweroff: Unable to change power state from D3cold to D0,device inaccessible.

Hi Mates!

My AMD GPU can't be accessed after VM poweroff.

When I first turn on the host, start VM, the GPU which is passthroughed can work normally ( for me the GPU is 5700XT), and I can also see the VM screen on my monitor.

But after I shutdown the VM, I would see this error: vfio-pci 0000:03:00.0: Unable to change power state from D3cold to D0, device inaccessible . And I can't re-start the VM because this problem until I restart the host.

trying to aquire lock...TASK ERROR: can't lock file '/var/lock/qemu-server/...

Please help. I am trying to stop a VM using command line on the node it was hosted. The reason I did it because we have a problem on the Node Web GUI and we badly needed to stop the VM. I used command #qm stop <vmid>. This seems to work but when I start it using command #qm start <vmid>, this is the error message:

"trying to aquire lock...TASK ERROR: can't lock file '/var/lock/qemu-server/lock-109.conf' - got timeout"

Cluster issue

I have a 3node cluster

I needed to rebuild one node
I did the removal and join using the docs https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager
That all went well

Note: Im using the same name PVE3 and IP for ne rebuilt node as before

Now I have issues manageing the nodes

My 3 modes are PVE1, PVE2, PVE3

If I login via PVE1
Everything i s fine on PVE1 and PVE2
On PVE3 I cant get to the console of the LXC containers
