VM in eine neues Netzwerk verschoben, Neue IP funktioniert nicht

Hi,

ich habe eine VM aus einem Netzwerkbereich in einen anderen verschoben, doch kann ich über die neue IP den Dienst nicht aufrufen. Zum Hintergund:

Ich experimentiere gerade mit einer Firewall und möchte quasi einige VM´s in einen Bereich verschieben der nur über das "Intranet" erreichbar ist, quasi aus meinem Netzwerk. Dazu hat mein Server 2 Netzwerkkarten. Die eine ist für das WAN die andere für das LAN. Jede Schnittstelle hat Ihren eigenen IP-Bereich. Die VM die ich verschoben habe...

How to re-populate hourly/daily graphs?

Hi,
had some uncool struggle today after the hardware(!) somehow changed the network device name (from enp1s0 to enp2so) and in the result my hourly/daily graphs are (and stay after 1h) plain empty, date+time stay at 1970-01-01, 01:00:00.
I guess bc I didn't get the time when booting rrd collected wrong data and struggles now. I wouldn't mind to just delete all 'historical' data if s/o pls advised me which files to move_out/rename/delete?

Guest interface visible on the host level

Hi guys,

When creating a VM or a CT, their network interface aren't directly visible on the host level. I mean, some interfaces are created on the host level but don't have the same MAC addresses than the guests and have no IP addresses.

Is there a way to get the guest interfaces on the host level, with their IP adresses ?

Hey,

I have a simple home-setup with an ISP-provided router and one Proxmox node. I do not have a managed switch, but I still want to use VLANs to separate virtual ressources on my node.

I have created a VLAN-aware bridge and added workloads to it, including a pfSense appliance that holds all VLANs from that bridge in a trunk (by not selecting a VLAN Tag in the VirtIO network adapter).

I now want to use physical interfaces to work as access-ports to different VLANs on this...

apt autoremove failed after upgrade to pve-manager/8.2.4

The upgrade of my 3 node cluster to pve-manager version 8.2.4 went OK. After rebooting all 3 node there are no functional problems.
> pveversion
pve-manager/8.2.4/faa83925c9641325 (running kernel: 6.8.8-1-pve)

Although the cluster functions normally, only node2 seems to have a post-install issue (node1 and node3 have no issues at all)

Node2:
According to "apt update" all installed packages are up to date.

Data corruption in Windows Server VM

Hello,

I ran into a strange data corruption issue which I need help with. The VM in question is Windows Server 2016 Standard, used primarily as a file server.

On this VM, I found files which could not be read or copied anymore, not even on the VM itself. I only get "the file is unreadable or damaged" - something I would expect from a defect physical disk. [Help] Data LV got 'activated read only' after update & Reboot

Hi,
I bought a license key and applied the key. Then did a update from web ui. Upon reboot (which was suggested by update), I can not start the VMs since the disk are missing. Apparently my /dev/pve/data has become read only. And storage pool size has reduced to 100GB from ~1TB. I added 'event_timeout=600' to /etc/udev/udev.conf and update-initramfs -u and reboot. No luck yet. Please help.

Hi!

I have a PBS system (latest v2.1-1 with kernel 5.13.19-4-pve) running with ZFS raidz2 on a ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v4 @ 2.10GHz, 1 socket with 8 cores + 2 threads per core AKA 16 CPUs).
The system also has pve-qemu-kvm v6.1.1-1 installed (from http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve), to execute vma create for restoring VMs for direct (import) usage in PVE environments.
This basically works fine, but for a few VMs and under certain(?)...

SNMP Monitor always down in 09PM to 7AM

hi everyone
I tried monitoring network devices and servers using observium
For monitoring network devices like mikrotik or cisco and idracit looks smooth, but when monitoring my Proxmox server, why does it always turn off at the same time every day on both of my Proxmox servers from 09PM to 07AM??

when I monitor with the same server
For IDRAC, monitoring is always on, but Proxmox is off at that time

why?

Deleted directory shows up under node

Hi,

after some testing i have a strange behavior.

i created and deleted some disks , lvm and directories, but the ones i deleted are still visible in the web interface after i deleted them.

i think the web interface in in an early stage and that's also the reason, why i can't create and change the LVM settings over the web interface.

i guess the old directory mount points are still in the database and are not deleted. the question is why.
would be also a + if you can change that via the...

While doing some testing with qm remote-migrate, I got this error message while trying to migrate a cold VM. However migrating it live works OK:

Module QLGE no more included in new Kernel

Hello there, after updating kernel of a proxmox backup server i found that the 10 GB/s NICs were unreachable. Those nics are CNA QLE8142 and the driver module il QLGE.
It has been easy to discover that the said module is not included in the latest kernel anymore.
Those nics are also installed on all the 8 nodes of the cluster (three of them are only for ceph). I guess that if i was updating ceph nodes first, probably in this moment i would be in serious trouble. At the moment i solved...

7 OSD down across two nodes Issues Since Upgrading to v8 - HELP!

Some strange stuff has been happening since i upgraded to v8 this week.

I have a six node cluster with ceph. The actual upgrade process was fine. Basically I did one a day over the course of the week and everything seemed fine.

I then had an issue with two nodes which have started to drop their OSD. Between the two nodes I am down 7 OSD. When it was one drive I thought OK may be hardware but not this amount over a 24-36 window. '573 daemons have recently crashed' was not happening...

seeking advice how to share a 25Gbit/s to several VMs/LXC?
I get full 25Gbit/s speed when doing passthrough of the NIC to VM, but I would like several VMs/LXC to have access at full speed?
Advice greatly appreciated.

Why is the web interface port 8006 hard-coded?

I have a situation where I need to change the port of the PMG web interface. But there is no configuration option for this.
Finally I found out that port 8006 is hard-coded in the pmgproxy sources.

This is just horrible! Why?

I have to hack into the source every time I upgrade.

No previous backup found, cannot do incremental backup

Hi

First of all, thanks for that awesome proxmox backup server. I currently do my first steps with it and got the most things working properly.

What I noticed is, that the first backup always went trough properly, as soon as I now want do to a second backup of the machine, only lxc is working properly:

Using PVE 8.2.2 trying to create backup job for a remote PBS 3.2-3 that was successfully added.

Getting this error message on submit, I am not sure how to troubleshoot as my other PVE 8.2.2 node works fine without this error with the same PBS when making a backup job.
