NFS server from PVE host can't get rw access on client

Hi, I have setup an NFS server on the Proxmox host and shared it with the network. However I am unable to get write access to the regular user on my laptop. If I change to the root user, it works fine.

These are my current setting from the server:

/mnt/btr-vault/vault
                192.168.0.0/16(sync,wdelay,hide,no_subtree_check,sec=sys,rw,secure,no_root_squash,no_all_squash)

I recently bought a Prolink PRO1501SFCU UPS for my Proxmox server.
I watched Techno Tim's YouTube video on how to setup NUT but it doesn't seem to work for me.

What I've done:
1. created a Proxmox debian turnkey core Linux container (unprivileged container = no; nesting = 1)

2. Installed nut, nut-server, nut-client (2.7.4-13)

3. ran lsusb

Hi all,

I have a network issue that started before 8.1, for which I had a workaround, that won't work anymore in 8.1.

I have a 9 node PVE cluster (pve0..8), all using LAGs to a single Edgeswitch, using Jumbo Frames. Nodes 1 to 8 are Mac Minis from various generations, using the internal Ethernet port, and an external Apple Gb Thunderbolt adapter. Node pve0 is a far more recent industrial PC, with 6 Intel 225-V NICs. I use four of them in a bond.

No EMail when backkup job finisched

I have two backup jobs, one daily backup 2 VMs runs fine every night send finished often, but sometimes to another not existing target, what resulst in mailer error no such recipient.
The second job for more VMs runs every sunday night, runs fine but no EMAil at all, no delivery failure.

Hello,

Im having issues with my 4x KALEA-INFORMATIQUE PCIe kaart 2.5gbe pice card that has the Intel I225-v chipset on it.
Im also reading that there are issues with this intel chipset and the newest promox kernel.
So is there someone who has these intel nics running stable on a certain kernel version?

If there is more information needed, please let me know ;)

Can't boot after installing Windows on another disk

I recently installed a new NVMe SSD on my computer and installed Windows 10 on it. I can successfully boot into Windows by selecting the new disk as the boot drive during startup.

However, when I choose the old disk (which has Proxmox Virtual Environment installed) as the boot drive, I notice that while the bootloader works, PVE fails to launch. An error message appears on my screen:

Any ideas on how to fix this?

seeking advice how to share a 25Gbit/s to several VMs/LXC?
I get full 25Gbit/s speed when doing passthrough of the NIC to VM, but I would like several VMs/LXC to have access at full speed?
Advice greatly appreciated.

combine PBS datastores so they show up as one single datastore

Hello,

i recently run out of disk space and as I had two slots left on the PBS I simply added two discs in raid 1 and defined them as extra datastore.
Is there some way I can combine them to show up as one for the PVE Cluster or tell the PBS to automatically split up the backups according to free discspace?

leider schlägt seit neuestem mein Backup zu Tape fehl.
Letzte Woche hat es noch funktioniert, heute nicht mehr mit folgendem Fehler:

PBS storage suddenly (like over night) full!?!

Hi,

I have a PBS running for a while (two years?) now with apporx. 25TB worth of storage.

Regularly, I check how much space is left / when the datastore is going to be full. A couple of days ago, it said that it was running full in a bit of 50 days. So I decided to make room and so I combed through all the backups and deleted a bunch. The GC logs show that 2.4TB worth of data were removed two days ago.

Today, it says that storage is full. I did not add any new machines to be backed up and...

Absichern "Offsite-Backup" im selben LAN

Das Thema ist einen zweiten PBS im selben LAN fuer Offsite-Backusp zugaenglich zu machen. Diesen aber so gut wie moeglich gegen Ransomeware und Hacker abzusichern.
Der Plan ist es einen zweiten autonomen PBS aufzusetzen, der mittels Pull einen Sync-Job vom Haupt-PBS holt.

Koennte ich dies Firewall-maessig so absichern, dass ich vom Haupt-PBS alle Verbindungen outgoing zum zweiten PBS blockiere und lediglich 8007 outgoing vom Secure-PBS auf den Haupt-PBS erlaube? Oder welche Ports werden...

Hello everyone :)

I recently upgraded to Proxmox VE 8.2.2 running kernel 6.8.4-2-pve (having a Subscription active). I have experienced 2 seemingly random host crashes/freezes since the upgrade where the Proxmox host became completely unresponsive, but I was unable to determine the cause at the time, especially since it happened at night without any load.

However, I have now found a reproducible way to trigger the crash. The host consistently crashes when attempting to install Ubuntu...

Recently installed Proxmox VE 8.2 on my new homelab build. Used 3x 2 TB NVME drives in ZFS RAIDZ1 for storage.
Noticed some worrying messages in kernel log:

Is there a way to back up to a Synology Nas but only back up the latest data, not back up from the beginning?

because backing up data from the start takes a long time

and why sometimes the latest data from new backups is smaller than the previous day

Hi -

Running Proxmox VE 8.1.0, all patches applied.

I have a bunch of VMs but two of them need to start in order. There's a TrueNAS SCALE VM, running 24.04.0. It is set to start at boot, order=1, delay=0. I also have an app VM running a bunch of containers, some of which require access to TrueNAS shares. If they can't access the shares, the containers can't start properly.
