Unable to delete a replication jobs!

Hi,

I setup 1 replication job on cluster with 2 nodes. Now I'm unable to delete de job. I try to remove in the nodes and in the datacenter but it doesn't work.

What I can do ?

removing OSD on failed Hardware leaves the OSD service

Hello all,

Here is the situation :
We have a Ceph cluster on top of proxmox on Dell Hardware.
On of the DELL virtual disk failed, hence the corresponding OSD failed.
This is a HDD disk not NVME and "thankfully" the bluestore was not split out on local NVME disks.

Anyway, we followed the recommendation to remove properly the OSD from CEPH prior to get replacement of the physical drive.
For that we followed the directions given on : pve-docs/chapter-pveceph.html#_replace_osds

Hard disk management on new installation

Hello everyone,

today for the first time I installed Proxmox on the server “ProLiant DL360 Gen9”. All the Proxmox installations I have done so far were on home PCs.

Everything went well though I'm still left with doubts about disk partitioning.
As you can see from the picture, in the 20 Gb “sda” disk I installed Proxmox.
Instead “sdb” is a raid of 8 disks (I have to figure out if the raid is already configured, I think so because before on the server there was ESXi).

Crash-logs how-to ?

Hi,
I'm new to proxmox, and the last few months I had two crashes. I'm trying to analyze but I don't find the correct logs.
I tried looking with journalctl but there is just a gap between the crash and the reboot. I do have a "screenshot" (photo of the monitor) but that's very minimal (i.e. max. 40 lines of the last output), I don't see anything I recognize from journalctl.
So how can I see a more meaningfull log ?

LXC Containers won't start after reboot

Fresh 8.3 installation from ISO , updated to the latest version.

Unprivileged Containers won't start after server reboot. Can't even start a freshly created container,
I got two servers, both have the same problem.

Kernel version 6.11 or 6.8 - no difference.

after upgrade, unable to boot

After I executed the command apt upgrade && reboot, I can't start pve, I get this error:

If I select kernel 6.8.12-4-pve, it can boot.

As a temporary measure, I switched to the old kernel "pve-efiboot-tool kernel pin 6.8.12-4-pve".

What should I do ? thx.

How to reboot ?

Hi,
Last week I rebooted my proxmox-server via the GUI after an update. Unfortunately, my (only) lxc refused to start. I had to pct unlock <lxc-id> before I could start it again. I think the lxc got stuck because I had a backup of it running that had taken a snapshot.
How can I prevent this from happening ? Is the only solution waiting for the backup to be completed ?

I'm troubleshooting random host reboots which have been causing me huge headaches. I see them in the logs, and nothing appears to precede them.

Deploying PBS for my vpn connected friend to store (his) offsite backup - how?

i was listening to a podcast with Alex Neumann regarding backup and stumbled accross his idea i like to do aswell, which is offsite backup at your friends homelab.

Im running a mini-pc with Proxmox as a host and VM Homeassistant, 2x LXC DMS, LXC VPN, and a few smaller LXCs and a VM gameserver. I have a 2TB Datacenter SATA with enought space.

SDN VLAN Zone with VNet Error

I am having trouble configuring a VLAN VNet for my virtual machines using Proxmox SDN. After adding a zone and vnet I get the following error on some hosts: "error vmbr0"

For example, the VMNet has the error on this host:

All my hosts have the referenced vmbr0 linux bridge configured. For example, the host with the error has this configuration:

I Destroyed My main-zfs Pool – Seeking Recovery Advice

I hope this is on topic for this forum.
I made a critical mistake while trying to replace a failed drive in my main-zfs pool, and now I fear I’ve completely corrupted the metadata. I’m hoping someone here has a suggestion to recover my data, or at least confirm if a professional data recovery service might be able to help.

Unable to import Windows servers from ESXi

I tested several ways to import a Windows Server 2019 VM from ESXi (version 7), here are the configs I was able to test:

- processor: host / Disk : prepared for VirtIO / BIOS : SeaBIOS (my machine has no UEFI on Vmware )/ Machine : by default(i440fx) / SCSI controller : VirtIO = innacessible_boot_device

Grüß euch liebe Community.

Ich versuche vergebens mit den LSI 53C810 von einer SCSI Festplatte eine VM zu booten, jedoch bisher ohne Erfolg.
Bekomme die Fehlermeldung :

Boot failed: could not read the boot disk

Hintergrund: Ich muss ein SCO Unix 5.0.6 virtualisieren und der LSI 53C810 dürfte der einzige Controller sein welcher kompatibel ist.
Habe nun schon mehrere Tage damit verbracht diverse Treiber in der Originalmaschine zu laden und danach zu Proxmox zu portieren aber ohne Erfolg...

PBS API show running task as erroneous

The topic says it by itself. I have configured monitoring for failed task via API, and i got a little confused with results i got. It is not a big issue, anyway, because template is checking for an endtime value.

Garbage Collect Jobs

After upgrade to proxmox Backup Server 3.3 I've got some fail jobs with status: TASK ERROR: Aborting GC for safety reasons: nested datastores not allowed: 'BACKUP350' already in "/mnt/datastore/BACKUP350".

I know that I have some tenants as a new one datastores inside this but how to resolve it.

I installed updates

libpve-common-perl/stable 8.2.6 all [upgradable from: 8.2.5]
pve-firmware/stable,stable 3.14-1 all [upgradable from: 3.13-3]
qemu-server/stable 8.2.5 amd64 [upgradable from: 8.2.4]

After doing this i was getting a task error saying cannot bind <pci-device> to vfio

Because my router is a vm with a pass through network card it screwed me. I had to bring out backup router and down grade all of these packages and then pass through was immediately restored.
