Proxmox VE 8.3.1 Installation with no RTL8125 Drivers

I'm trying to install Proxmox 8.3.1 (latest) on a newer ASUS Z890 motherboard that uses the Realtek R8125 2.5Ge NIC and it's failing to get network connectivity. That PC has only the RTL8125 NIC thus I have no other options to get initial Internet connectivity. Proxmox 8.3.1 doesn't detect this NIC and install a driver nor does the latest Realtek 2.5Gbe driver kit (r8125-9.015.00.tar.bz2) procedure (via autorun.sh) work correctly as the make fails with the error below.

Hello everyone! I have a PBS running locally on my client and a PBS running on OVH to receive a copy of the data from the local PBS.
In this environment I currently have 8 VMs, of the 8 machines 7 are smaller than the PBS and can push the VMs without any problems, however the largest of them all is a SQL Server with 2 2TB disks, it gives this error and I have been unable to pull the backups from there since the 6th:

So I have been messing with Proxmox for about 3 weeks. Loving it. Question tho...

I have it running on an extra workstation I had lying around. With Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900 CPU @ 2.80GHz and no GPU. Just using the built in one from intel.

I am thinking about moving all my Plex applications and my frigate instance onto proxmox. Is it feasable to be able to share the GPU to all these containers and have it work ok?

ich experimentiere gerade mit dem Gedanken einen 2 Node HA Cluster ohne QDevice zu erstellen.

Warum mache ich das?

Ich möchte eine Ausfallsicherheit meines Produktiv-Node sicherstellen.
Ich nutze einen Produktiv-Node (PN) und einen Backup-Node (BN), auf dem PN laufen meine VMs und erfüllen Ihre Arbeit.
Der BN repliziert die VMs und dient nur als Backup und übernimmt im Falle das der PN ausfällt die Arbeit.
Aber wie soll ich das ohne ein QDevice oder 3. Node machen?

Windows Server 2022, VirtIO NIC not identifying network but e1000 NIC does just fine?

I have a ProxMox server (8.2.2) and a fresh install of Windows Server 2022 that I ran through Sysprep with all the VirtIO drivers installed and made into a Template. I have deployed the template and set up a new server from it. For some reason the VirtIO NIC won't identify my network, but if I switch it to e1000 NIC it identifies it immediately. If I then switch back to VirtIO from e1000 it functions fine. I've looked through Device Manager and all drivers look good, tried disabling...

Hi all, I am looking to move my virtual machines from vmware to proxmox, I have finally decided and bought a second hand offer of a HP DL360 G10 with HBA E208 controller, two mirrored SSD disks for Proxmox and 4 2Tb SSD samsung 870 disks for the VMS storage, on the old vmware server I have the same 4 2Tb samsung 870 disks on a HP DL360 G9 with a HP RAID controller and the disk performance is much better on the old vmware configuration, I thought that 4 disks with ZFS in proxmox would give me...

Is Proxmox LXC backup broken and kills data on mp0?

Hi,

I have an container and did a backup using proxmox GUI. It has an mp0 configured like the rootfs. I'm surprised of the behavior and I don't like surprises in backups.

First, although configuration for rootfs and mp0 in GUI look "the same" (especially neither mentioning backup=0), only rootfs is backed up. Apparently, for rootfs backup=1 is default, but for mp0 backup=0 is default and I think this is wrong and should be changed. If they had the same defaults, the backup would have been...

I am having a very strange problem with firewalling a VM, which is a virtual PBX. I've spent a bit of time troubleshooting this and I simply cannot figure out what is happening. I consider myself pretty well-versed in PVE and FW, literally hundreds of VMs across a few clusters, many with complex firewall setups that work just fine. I've made this issue as basic as I can. This is a Linux VM with a VirtIO network card.

Hello everyone!

I have a problem that I have been working on for 4 days now and that is driving me crazy! I just figured out where the problem was and frankly I am very surprised..... It is the ProxMox firewall that is messing up my PBX phone system!

In summary:

Test scenario, 3 nodes - pve{3,4,5} - default PVE install (LVM, so no ZFS), 1 container set as HA, started on pve3.

Figured out replication not possible without ZFS, alright, never mind, pve3 went down, HA attempted to restart CT on pve4, no volume available, still understood.

Now when pve3 starts up again, HA does nothing, to some extent, this could be tolerated, after all the last thing it knew was it failed to restart that CT as long as it is concerned, for...

WireGuard LXC Container Performance Questions.

Has anyone setup WireGuard in an LXC Container? I have it fully setup and working using the "ubuntu-20.04-standard_20.04-1_amd64.tar.gz" template. The speed is not meeting my expectations bandwidth wise. I have sequential 2.5Gbps fiber however currently Proxmox is on a 1Gbps LAN port for now. I'm using my mobile phone as a test case here and over 5G.

Wrong hostname on SAN (Certificate)

We noticed that the host's certificate has a incorrect hostname under the certificate's SAN

habe ein PBS mit 2 Netzwerkkarten (1.Karte 10G / 2.Karte 2.5G) eingerichtet.
Führe ich jetzt ein Geschwindigkeitstest mit iperf3 auf die LAN2-IP (2.5G-Netzwerkkarte) durch, werden mir auch 10G angezeigt, sodass alle
komplett über die 1. Netzwerkkarte mit 10G geroutet und nicht über die 2.Netzwerkkarte mit 2.5G.

Hello,

I have a Windows Server 2022 and Win11 VM running on Proxmox. I'm using Virtio drivers for Network, SATA, etc.
The VMs themselves are running fine.
For testing purposes I need to perform remote kernel debugging on those hosts.

The debugger host is a VM on an ESXi server, and the VMs on Proxmox are in the same VLAN/network like the debuggees.
As long as the debugee is also on ESXi or a physical machine on the same VLAN/network everything works perfectly.

I am unable to start a linux vm after I increase the RAM. The Proxmox version is 6.0-9. This is the output of the start command, and any help is greatly appreciated:

removing OSD on failed Hardware leaves the OSD service

Hello all,

Here is the situation :
We have a Ceph cluster on top of proxmox on Dell Hardware.
On of the DELL virtual disk failed, hence the corresponding OSD failed.
This is a HDD disk not NVME and "thankfully" the bluestore was not split out on local NVME disks.

Anyway, we followed the recommendation to remove properly the OSD from CEPH prior to get replacement of the physical drive.
For that we followed the directions given on : pve-docs/chapter-pveceph.html#_replace_osds

Trouble passing through my Rx 550

Every time I try to start a VM with this gpu passed through I get the attached error message and the VM fails to start, I have attempted to implement the vendor-reset (https://github.com/gnif/vendor-reset) and I am still receiving the same error, completely lost on what to do, any help would be very appreciated.
