Backup auf PBS schlägt mit Fehler "job failed with err -61 - No data available" fehl

Guten Morgen,

seit einer Woche schlägt das Backup genau einer VM fehl, während andere VMs und LXC Container weg gesichert werden.

Der Fehler sieht folgendermaßen aus:

Ich habe hier einen Cluster aus 3 Nodes mit Ceph. Gestern hat der eine Node wegen irgend welcher Cluster- und/oder Ceph-Probleme gebootet. Ich bin aber nicht in der Lage das Log zu interpretieren um die Ursache zu ermitteln. Was war die Ursache? Der Länge wegen ist das Log im Anhang. Nach dem was in der Datei steht wurde direkt der Reboot ausgelöst.

Proxmox VE time issue

Hi all,

I have a weird and frustrating issue with the time on my proxmox VE.

This virtual environment sits on an off site server and is used for backups etc. It runs a few VM's such as a windows sftp server, proxmox backup server and some firewalls. All of the VM's sitting on this VE have correct time but not the VE itself.

The time is for some reason out by 3 minutes preventing my TFA from working. I have read every thread I can find on this and cannot seem to resolve it.

zsync and recover

Greetings,

I have read and tried hard to understand but can't wrap my brain around it, so... I have two PVE servers at the same location, they are not clustered (for reasons) and the primary server has a particular VM that is very important. I'm currently using zsync to copy over the VM to the secundary server, and AFAIK everything is setup correctly. The secondary server has no VMs setup (its more of a storage and backup, we have not experimented failure of the primary server so far)...

Hi,
I have installed proxmox on a mini PC to run Home Assistant (VM) and other servers in LXC (MariadB, InfluxDB, Grafana, Nore-red) and learning a bit more every day. All is working fine except for three system crashes that it happened about 17 days after last reboot.
Any guidance to help me identify the cause(s) would be great.

Symptoms:
  • PVE, VM and LXC have diseappeared from the network, so cannot ssh
  • connecting a monitor to the server gives no hdmi input

Delete stuck snapshot

Hi there,

I have an old snapshot on my system, which won't delete. It's not being used and he status says 'delete' but is appears stuck. If I try and delete it again in the GUI the delete fails, and the VM is locked.
I have to unlock the vm manually on the command line.


Could someone tell me how to manually delete the snapshot from the command line?

Proxmox host regularly loses network connection, needs full reboot to restore

I'm running the latest 7.4-13 of Proxmox, with kernel 6.1.15-1 at this moment, on my QNAP TS-h973AX NAS. This device runs on an AMD Ryzen V1500B APU, with 2x Intel I225-V 2.5Gb network interfaces and a Marvell Aquantia AQC107 10Gb interface.

I'm only using the 10Gb interface at this moment, although the two other are part of the same default bridge.

A peculiarity that started happening is that every few days, I lose network connection, without any reason - kernel and system logs show...

Hi,

I've recently started working with Proxmox and built a 3-node cluster.

My nodes have the following addresses:
node1 - 10.140.128.1/9
node2 - 10.140.128.3/9
node3 - 10.140.128.5/9
Additionally, I have a special subnet for VMs: 10.140.134.0/24.

Currently, my network configuration looks like this:

ich hoffe auf Hilfe zur Einrichtung des Matrix Storage Managers auf einem Proxmox-Server zur Verwaltung von Broadcom-Raidcontrollern. Mein Ziel ist, von einem WIndows-Client, auf dem der MSM als Verwaltungskonsole installiert ist, auf die Controller des Servers zugreifen zu können. Proxmox is converting my disk when it should be importing it

This is translated into a vm configuration file for proxmox, does anyone know why, despite specifying a disk file and to import from it, and including the format, that it attempts to copy it to /var/. I tried making the format and the filetype the same, didnt fix it...

PVE Migration with same SSDs

Hello,
I have a proxmox pve. This has two ssds and two nics (Minisforum 820). One SSD is the boot drive and the other contains the VMs.
Can I put the ssds in another hardware and keep my settings? The new hardware (ASROCK board) only has one NIC, as my pfsense firewall should no longer run as a VM.
What things do I need to think about?

How to delivery all or selected messages in quarantine ?

Hello,

I defined a rule to move specifics mails in quarantine to be check manually by an administator.

Now I had a lot of mails for many users I need to delivery to them. It's very fastidious to use the web UI and select mail address by mail address and delivery mails.
I didn't see anything in documentation or api.

Is there a way to do this ?

How to activate GUI->xterm.js in a debian 12 VM?

In order to make xterm.js available, I have edited the VM /etc/default/grub and now the contentes are:

GRUB_TERMINAL="console serial"

At the VM I have executed >update-grub

At the ProxMox GUI, Hardware->Display was changed from Default to "Serial terminal 0"

After rebooting the VM, the GUI Console->Xterm.js is now enabled...

Hi, after a full host restart I get this error starting a virtual machine KVM.

/var/lib/vz/lock is empty...
How can I unlock?

Ich hatte auf meinem Proxmox Host zwei komplett Ausfaelle, bei denen ich beim Debuggen nicht mehr weiter komme.

Auf dem Host laeuft:
proxmox-ve: 8.3.0 (running kernel: 6.8.12-8-pve)
pve-manager: 8.3.4 (running version: 8.3.4/65224a0f9cd294a3)

Hardware ist ein Tuxedo Nano Pro - Gen13 mit 32GB und einer AMD Ryzen 5 8640U CPU

Host friert ein. Keine Antwort auf Pings. Login via SSH oder direkt am Host nicht mehr moeglich. Einzige Loesung: vom Strom trennen.

Hi Leute, ich schreibe euch mal in der Hoffnung ein paar Lösungen und Ideen zu meinem merkwürdigen Problem zu finden. Kurz: ich habe 2 Server, auf dem einem Performancen die SSDs ohne Probleme, auf dem anderen Server habe ich mit wirklich hohem i/o Delay zu kämpfen, obwohl auf beiden, die selbe Anwendung läuft, und sie sonst auch identisch aufgesetzt sind.

Von vorne weg, mir ist klar, das Consumer SSDs wie die SA500 nicht unbedingt ideal für ZFS Systeme sind, jedoch geht es mir hier nicht...

Can PBS backup Hyper-v vms?

Hi All

I was hoping that someone has tried this or has some sort of solution to backup hyper-v vms using PBS?
They VM's are hosted on a Hyper-v server.

We are primarily using Proxmox as our VE.
We are running our windows DC's and other windows services on hyper-v
And was hoping that there is a way for PBS to manage the backups cause the windows native one it terrible.
Then I can set this up for my PVE as well.

I'm working at a MSP which supports some 2 Node directattached storage VMware Clusters. I'm a Proxmox enthusiast and trying to lead our Business to turn away from Broadcom.
An older of my work mates stated following the docs our normal architecture (2 Server and MSA) is not feasible with Proxmox.
