PBS - Full Storage without Backup-Jobs

Hallo an die Community,

ich bin relativ neu in der Proxmox Welt und versuche mich nach und nach einzuarbeiten.

Aktuell habe ich einen Proxmox in der Version 8.2.2 am Laufen und auf diesem ist ein PBS aktiv. Dieser PBS hat ein 30TB Storage angebunden. Wenn ich auf den PBS schaue, dann fällt mir auf, dass bereits ca. 90% vom Storage belegt sind.

Und jetzt das merkwürdige: Es sind gar keine Backup-Jobs definiert.

Restore of container backup from ZFS to LVM on a different server fails.

Hi there,

I have two Proxmox VE 8 servers called proxmox1 and proxmox3.

The backups of proxmox1 are validated every night (copy to Debian desktop, decompress, start and ping).

Proxmox3 is an old Dell Precision T1650 meant to serve as backup in case proxmox1 fails. It has a 512MB NvMe on a PCI adapter and two 1TB hard drives for storage of backup files coming from proxmox1.

Hallo,
ich hatte bisher mein gesamtes Homelab unter ESXi in vielen einzelnen VMs am laufen.

Vor einiger Zeit bin ich im Rahmen einer Hardwareaktualisierung auf PVE umgestiegen und möchte jetzt dann mal mit dem Umzug anfangen.

Mir ist aber noch nicht so ganz klar, auf welches Pferd ich setzen soll... Ich möchte größtenteils auf Container setzen (LXC und/oder Docker) und nur noch ganz wenig in separaten VMs laufen lassen.

Was mir dabei wichtig ist, ist die Möglichkeit des Updates, das...

Kein Login nach Anlage neuer User - Hilfe

Hallo,

ich habe heute einen neuen User für den ioBroker-Adapter erstellt. Am bestehenden root-User habe ich nichts geändert. Ich kann mich nun weder mit dem neuen User noch mit dem root-User einloggen.

Ich kann mich nun weder auf die GUI noch via WinSCP einloggen. Das ganze natürlich von verschiedenen Rechnern aus probiert. Den Rechner/ Host habe ich schon ausgeschaltet udn neu gestartet.

Die Passwörter sind im Passwort-Manager hinterlegt. Als vertippen ist ausgeschlossen. Auch ein...

I wanted to know how PVE processes the snapshot. How the contents of each snapshot is stored on disk ?
How to access the data of specific snapshot without rollback to snapshot, ie outside VM , can we mount some file , how to get information of snapshot files ?

ich bin am 2 pve & 1 pbs am aufsetzen. Alle Server haben 15 x 2TB sata Disks verbaut für den Datenpool. Das OS wird auf 2 kleinere Platten in Mirror Konfiguration aufgesetzt.

Bei den PVE nodes ist mir vor allem die Performance wichtig, also Durchsatz und IO. Ein Ausfall einer Platte sollte nicht grad die Node lahmlegen, aber andererseits habe ich die zweite Node mit Replikation und auch die Sicherungen auf pbs zur Verfügung.

Hello community,

I need some help regarding the AMD GPU passthrough.

So far I've got:

- monitor connected via hdmi to the amd rx580 card in proxmox
-enabled IOMMU
-enabled SVN
-extended BAR etc.
- a fresh proxmox install
- a windows 11 VM

I installed windows with the latest VirtIO drivers.
Later I installed the whole VirtIO package in Windows when logged in via NoVNC.
Later I've added the card via the RAW options (it was not listed under the mapped devices).

In a new installation of Proxmox 8.3 I created two VMs with Windows Server. Copying a few GB of files from one to the other, the copy process freeze. Then I noticed that sometimes even the Proxmox interface stops responding (moving in the menus I see the "Loading" icon and then "communication error") for many seconds even if it continues to respond to the ping losing only a few.

Guten Nachmittag zusammen,

gerne würde ich mir Skripte vorbereiten um VMs mit einem Klick zu erstellen.
Ich habe auch schonmal durch die Dokumentation geblättert und gesehen das es wirklich viele Parameter für qm create gibt.
Gerne würde ich eine VM grafisch erstellen und irgendwie auslesen was genau der Proxmox Host da an Shell befehlen gearbeitet hat um das als Vorlage nutzen zu können.

Natürlich wäre es auch schön, wenn im zweiten Schritt dann vielleicht eine Art Abfrage eingebaut...

IP Address Not Assigned in Ubuntu VM Deployment

Hi,

I am currently working on deploying a VM, running Ubuntu 24.04.1 server, using OpenTofu. This has been successful; however, the network configuration is not working. Somehow, it is being correctly taken over and added to the Cloud-Init, but when I run the command 'ip a' on the VM, I see that the ens18 interface has not been assigned an IP address. Is there a way to configure this?

Ubuntu 22.04 VM randomly being powered off

I currently have a PVE 8.2.2 setup where it runs a single VM (from a kubernetes cluster) that uses nearly all the resources of the host. Approximately once a week or once every other week it randomly goes down, no warring nothing in logs or tasks. Just powered off completely. Its not a HW problem bc I see this on a few different hosts in the same kubernetes cluster. I am fairly new to PVE but I am somewhat exhausting my efforts on this. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I've got a bit of an issue. I'm running Proxmox 8.3 on a MinisForum NAB9.
Power went out the other day but I didn't notice any issues when it came back and turned the machine back on.
That was unitl I tried to make a backup of one of my VMs (VM 100 - it's a Windows 10 LTSC machine) and it keeps giving me the error in the title.
On my setup, backups are supposed to be stored on local-lvm, but I also have a NAS where I could store them. Tried both options but it doesn't seem to make...

attempting to troubleshoot OIDC redirect failed (500 error)

I have proxmox 7 set up to oidc back to a working keycloak setup, and the only output i get on what should be a fairly simple config is the below along with the client getting a popup which simply state "OpenID redirect failed. Request failed (500)":

nothing shows up in either log location which is quite unfortunate as I can't even tell if the proxmox instance is even doing a callout properly.

VLAN Connection Issue in Containers

Hi Folks,

My brain hurts!

I am currently running Proxmox 8.3.4 and have various VM's running on different VLAN's. These all play nicely and have full internet connectivity. However I have been trying to move some VM's to containers to save system resources and allow Proxmox better manage the resources.

I got the issue when doing VFIO live migration.
From Destination:

From source:

Proxmox change IP address

Hi,

I recently attempted to change the IP address of my Proxmox server (192.168.3.12---> 192.168.10.54) and updated it in the /etc/network/interfaces file but to no success. Surprisingly, reverting to the old IP (192.168.3.12) while connected to the (192.168.10.XX) network resolved the issue.

Any insights into what might be causing this?
