Ist das mit PMG so umsetzbar?

Hallo Forum,

mir explodiert langsam der Kopf und ich komme auf keinen grünen Zweig mehr.

Ich selber habe keinen eigenen Mailserver und auch keine eigene Domain. Ich nutze den Mailanbieter mailbox.org für meine Mails.
Ziel ist es, dass das Proxmox Mail Gateway eingehende Mails auf den Clients (Thunderbird) auf Spam und Viren überprüft. Das Versenden von Mails über mailbox.org ist jetzt erst einmal nicht vorgesehen.

Ist das mit PMG machbar? Wenn ja wie?

I have been trying to look through the API documentation to see how I can assign a user a role permission over a VM but I haven't found a post request that seams to do it.

Upgrading from 5.4-15 to current/newer release

I inherited a system setup by a former employee that I found out is running the very old Proxmox VE version 5.4-15.

I'm wondering what it would take to try and get it current?
Is there an upgrade path that might work for me to not have to rebuild everything?
Should I just start from scratch?

We currently have 3 Nodes, all of which have plenty of spare computing power and storage space.

Migration of LXC failing with stale volume

I am trying to migrate an LXC from a 3 node cluster to a single node setup. I tried two different LXC and I get the same error with no real details what failed. Does it support LXC migration? Both ends are on 'storage' which as both ZFS. I was just testing, so the LXC it not running and I unchecked the 'delete source'.

I had some previous fails but found out that you can't migrate if the LXC has replication in the source cluster. So removed replication jobs for the LXC and tried again...

I am a little bit confused, the are a lot of articles saying migrate from ESXi to VPE remove VMware-tools or open.vm-tools on linux
There are a lot of articles too "how to install open-vm-tools on linux"
so does it make any sense to let or install open-vm-tools on a migrated to PVE or not. I have qemu-guest-agents istalled

Proxmox Installation on Dell Laptop

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to install Proxmox on my Dell Laptop. Please bear with the question as it might sound naiive or basic

I am trying to run it on Wifi i-e on my home network (not connecting it with any ethernet cable), I have the private IP as 192.168.10.12 (from dhcp).

So while setting up the proxmox on my other laptop, i gave it the IP of 192.168.10.20 and default gateway of 192.168.10.1 (same as my home network). For DNS i used the same as default gateway

ich würde gerne die Hetzner Storage Box an den Proxmox Backup Server anbinden damit ich auch inkrementell Backups machen kann.

Habe bereite sie Storage Box an dem ProxMox VE angebunden und das funktioniert auch gut.

I am currently in the process of automating the deployment of PVE hosts including SSO:
For SSO, these steps include:
  • Creating an OpenID-Connect application and provider in Authtentik.
  • Creating a realm with those Authentik parameters in PVE
  • Creating groups, roles and setting ACL's
But I am blocking on one feature and that is to automatically assign users that stem from the SSO realm to a certain group.

Hello guys,

I am currently facing an Issue in our Proxmox Cluster as described in the Title.
It does not matter on which Node the VMs are on, or if they run Linux or Windows, it happens on every single one.
However LXCs in the same VLAN are not affected, since they dont use the VirtIO Adapter, as far as I can tell.

I recently set up Proxmox 6.2 onto a couple of old servers and was running through configuring some LXC instances. I've tried the following with only ArchLinux working as expected:

  • alpine-3.10-default_20190626_amd64.tar.xz (does not work)
  • alpine-3.11-default_20200425_amd64.tar.xz (does not work)
  • debian-10.0-standard_10.0-1_amd64.tar.gz (does not work)
  • debian-9.0-standard_9.7-1_amd64.tar.gz (does not work)

I am having an issue where I have 3 hypervisors in a cluster, one is substantially different than the others (totally different CPU generation). Eventually I will replace them all, but that takes time. Until then, I have the CPU type set to the lowest compatible version, and for the most part, it works. What I do find though is, say I do maintenance and migrate a vm, when I migrate it back, some time in the next 48 hours the VM pegs the CPU at ~15-25% and then hangs.

Feature Request: Backup Restoration Jobs

Proxmox VE has the option to create/schedule backup jobs from within the Datacentre.

You can specify the VM's/CT's to be backed up and also what time.
It would be extremely useful to be able to do the same process but with Restorations

I can create something similar using the CLI and a bash script using vzdump

I am comming to you to seek your wisdom because I surely do not know the solutions to my problem. I am currently working on PCIe pass through for some old Windows OSes (XP, vista, 7, 8.1) and working along some instructions I found on Youtube, Reddit and elswhere. Before doing so I have to create a working VM. Right now trying to get my Windows 7 machine started. I have done the configurations as the instructors done it. Changing the IP address of one node in a cluster

Hello.

I have a cluster of nodes A, B and C. I wanted to change B's IP address.

On node B I did:

Code: 
systemctl stop pve-cluster
systemctl stop corosync
pmxcfs -l

Then, on node B too, I changed its IP address on
/etc/network/interfaces
/etc/hosts
/etc/pve/corosync.conf
And incremented the config version on that last file

Then reboot

Then the PVE GUI showed a red sign on node B and question marks on its VMs. I tried unsuccessfully different things to solve it...

Storage configuration for Snapshots and RAW files.

Hello,

Is it possible to use a different location to store RAW files and snapshots files?
I mean, I have two SSD: 2To and 1To.
I would like to use the 2To to store all my VM's (LVM, raw files) and use my 1To only for snapshots files and backup files.

Is it possible as my 2To use RAW file format and my 1To use QCOW2 file format?
