Ich habe einen relativ kleinen PVE HCI Ceph Cluster im Einsatz und irgendwo bleibt massiv Performance auf der Strecke, ich kann den Fehler leider nicht finden.

Kurz zum Setup:
- 2x Supermicro Server Dual Epyc 7302, 384GB Ram
- 1x HPE DL360 G9 V4 Dual E5-2640v4, 192GB Ram
- 1x Fujitsu RX200 oder so, Dual E5-2690, 256GB Ram
- 56 VMs (Linux+Win), 10 LXCs gesamt

Alle mit Intel 10G Netzwerkkarten ausgestattet (denke X540, X550 und X710), Backend/Storage Netzwerk mit einem Qnap...

I am new to proxmox and servers. I installed proxmox on my ibm system x3550 m4 server. and installed truenas on it. I did PCI passthrough and turned on truenas. immediately my proxmox showed connection error and in cli it displayed
"EXT4-fs (dm-1): Remounting filesystem read only "
if I try to type something it says :
"-bash: /usr/bin/ls: Input/output error "

what should I do now

I wonder if anyone has script allowing to verify single chunk.

I have a problem with my PBS installation containing backup of large vm. Last verification of old snapshot discovered few bad chunks and I would like to avoid next whole snapshot verification. My goal is to verify if there is a problem with storage or with verification itself.

Once I adid my pci passthrough and start TrueNas both proxmox and TrueNas are getting stuck. it shows connection error.

I added that MegaRAID... thing..
Is that correct?
i am new to this environment

Quite a few changes with vGPU software on Kernel 6.8. The feature is called "Vendor-Specific VFIO Framework".

Note you will need 550.90.05 for this to work which you can download from nVIDIA. Things like mixed size vGPU (you can now have different memory allocations on the same GPU) and live migration on KVM are now a feature (haven't tested that feature yet, more to come).

Hello

I am seeing problems copying files to/from Windows guest VM from SMB drive. Copying gets stuck and can’t finish and timing out.

Same files copy fine on a real Windows computer

Wonder if anyone has seen something similar

Hi all - I set up a new VE server. I backed up some containers and VMs to my Synology.

When I try restoring the backups the VMs work fine but the containers won’t restore - saying there isn’t enough space. One of my VMs is 100GB and it has no problem restoring.

I’m going from ZFS to LVM - could that be the problem?

Hello there!

I recently found about Proxmox and completely migrated my VirtualBox VMs into it. Really cool to work with Proxmox!

I often perform snapshots to have the ability to revert back very quickly, because I use some of my VMs for testing purposes and like everyone sometimes I either make mistakes loll or install/remove stuff that turned out not to be the way to go.

When I try to restore a file from a backup I occurred in this error.
The VM is a Windows 11 with tpm. How can I mount the drive with tpm ?

Hello all,

I have built a Plex Ubuntu vm that uses the default video for normal operations, and the on board Intel iGPU for transcode purposes.

When I try to install the Intel Linux drivers and Quicksync drivers it does not detect a GPU bc the default video is first and the iGPU is second.

Has anyone seen this and are you able to point the drivers to iGPU? I cannot seem to find how i can do this.

Hello, I've updated to Proxmox 8.0.3 some days ago and yesterday after rebooting the server using the reboot command, one of my zfs datasets is now empty (the other dataset on the same pool are fine).

Code:

It seems that the files are still there but I cannot access them, the mountpoint directory is empty.

I have a 2-node-cluster with PBS and work fine. Now have add a new node. If I put a VM on this node it not backup. New node do not send email for backup summery like node1 and node2. Where I wrong?

I am not quite sure how to configure them. We have 2 schemes (corresponding to two Datastores):
One is
Monday: 4 rotating tapes: Week 1/Week2/Week3/Week4
Tuesday: 1 Tape
Wendsday: 1 Tape
Thursday: 1 Tape
Friday: 3 rotating Tapes

Second Drive:
Every Monday -
* On the first Monday a Month we have a Tape that will not be overwritten for a year. Except the January Tape we keep forever.

For the second time I have a problem with my SSD ZFS mirror.
Both NMVE-SSD are mounted on one of these PCI-e crads with 4 NVME/m.2 slots.

First it worked for a couple of months.
Then the zpool was degraded, complaining on of the SSDs is missing.

the probably faulty SSD was replaced with a new one adn the zpool was online again.

Now the same again: this is teh message

seit längerem habe ich nach einer Möglichkeit gesucht den Proxmox Host (PVE) zu sichern. Dann ist mir eingefallen, dass sich der Proxmox Backup Server dazu eignet. Neben VMs und LXCs kann man auch den Host sichern. Die Ausgangslage bei mir ist, dass der Backup Server auf einem separaten Server läuft. Die Anleitung funktioniert auch, wenn z.B. der Backup Server in einer VM/LXC auf dem Host laufen würde.

We are moving away from our Barracuda relay, and in testing, we cannot find anywhere, where we can view the outgoing message to confirm what is being sent. We can only see the email address, and not the subject or body. Is there a way?

Hi,

We just bought a new server, i've installed SSH onto it just so that I can use Terminal instead of the console that the Proxmox gives us, created a new container but is having issues with having a internet connection i.e: I cannot ping from this container, however ping from the server with 0% packet loss. I believe this to be a bridge issue but I could be completely wrong.

This container has a:
Local IP: 192.168.0.101/24 (IPV4/CIDR)
Gateways: 16.....6
Bridge: VMBR0

I have a 3-node cluster running PVE 8.2.4 and recently observed an intermittent issue that occurs infrequently.

SOMETIMES after a power outage, SOME LXC containers with "Start at Boot=Yes" fail to start.

Upon reviewing the logs, in a task called "Bulk start VMs and Containers", I encountered the message: TASK ERROR: cluster not ready - no quorum.
