All the 3 nodes in our current proxmox production cluster have a AMD EPYC 7302P 16-Core cpu. Now we have to replace one node with a machine which has a AMD EPYC 9124 cpu.
Will VM migrations work with this different cpu setup without restarting the VMs if a VM is moved from a node to another node with a different cpu?
We have another cluster where one nodes cpu is different. On this clusters VMs can be migrated between the nodes but I have to restart the VMs on the new node when it is the...

Hi,
After last update, just one of my nodes throws the
Code:
Cannot open iommu_group: No such file or directory
error.
The nodes are different Intel nodes, with integrated gpu, the other two are working fine:
Working:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700T
Not working anymore:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700T
Is there any way to make it work again without rolling back all of the cluster?

We recently uploaded a 6.11 kernel into our repositories. The current 6.8 kernel will stay the default on the Proxmox VE 8 series, the newly introduced 6.11 kernel is an option.
The 6.11 based kernel may be useful for some (especially newer) setups, for example if there is improved hardware support that has not yet been backported to 6.8.
This follows our tradition of upgrading the Proxmox VE kernel to match the current Ubuntu version until we reach an (Ubuntu) LTS release, like the 6.8...

Hello everyone,
I've been noticing that sometimes, my Windows VM's with an EFI boot on Proxmox sometimes fail to fully boot/load.
When that happens, they always get stuck on this exact same screen:

This happens on different Proxmox nodes (not clustered) with different versions of Windows (10, 11 and Server).
Why does that happen?

I'm working with a Dell Precision 7920, all virtualization flags are enabled in the BIOS. The proxmox host is saturn, the virtual guest is jupiter. Sorry for the long post, I'm trying to get as much pertinent data in as possible.
tl;dr: multi-socket system has NVMe PCIe drives resource mapped to a guest, half (one socket worth) disappear from host when VM guest is booted.

I have InfluxDB and Grafana running and pointed to them in the metrics settings.
Approximately 10-20 % of my LXCs/VMs are missing in Grafana/InfluxDB.
What I did to solve the problem:
- Upgraded from PVE7 to 8.1
- Installed new Grafana and InfluxDB
- Upgraded to InfluxDB 2 (what a pain in the ass)
- installed new LXCs/VMs
- Installed a new server
Everytime the same problem: Some of the LXCs/VMs are missing!
What is the problem?

Hello Promox Community,
i have 4x Dell Optiplex 3000 Thin Client with Intel Silver n6005.
On Proxmox 7.4 and 8 is the network performance terrible, maybe ~ 500KB/s, with Proxmox 8 lose the server after 5 or 10 mins the network connection.
With Proxmox 7 it´s a little bit more stable, but the network performance is bad.
Im running on Proxmox 7 now.

Hi, Im trying to configure gpu passthru in my pve machine, Ive tried a few ways already, but none seem to be working. This one (

Hi, I've reinstalled Proxmox VE 8.3 on a new SSD (250GB).
Before this, I had Proxmox installed on a 1TB hard disk. This hard disk contained both the operating system and all the VM and container images. Hi, I just managed to configure gpu passthrough on my Windows 10 and 11 VM, Im also trying to configure USB passthrough as Id like to use the computer partly for work etc. I passed 2 of my front ports to the VM, when i connected my logitech mouse to it, the windows and proxmox detected it as logitech nano controller, the mouse worked perfectly in the VM, when I connected my USB stick to the VM to test and transfer some files, the VM straight up just not detected it. can you please help me understand...
When I installed the PVE server, I created a ZFS pool via GUI.
Then I installed the 2nd PVE server and created the same named ZFS pool via GUI.
Then I clustered the both nodes.
This might have been my first error, not first to cluster and then create the ZFS pools?
Anyway, they do seem to work, as I have a ZFS-something storage called "VMs" in Datacenter/Storage and I can successfully migrate the virtual machines. Replication for the VM does work...

Ich bekomme leider keine Daten in die Influx (läuft in LXC Container als Docker- Installation).
Die influxdb.conf habe ich entsprechend angepasst (UDP Daten ergänzt).
Aber die Datenbank bleibt leer.

Hello,
I am having problems with Proxmox 8.3 and the iGPU of my Lenovo M90q. After the update, I am having a lot of crash with a debian vm where I pass the iGPU.
The vm crashes every 24-48 hours, sometimes during the daily backup, or during its idle period during the day/night.
How could I solve?

Hello Everyone,
i currently want to try out the SDN Feature and the complimentary VNet Firewall
whilst the SDN seems to be working perfectly the VNet Firewall doesnt block
The specific problem I encounter is that I have 2 SDN VNets defined: VMNet and mgmNet
I want to be able to manage the VMs in the VMNet VNet via the mgmNet, but the traffic to mgmNet must be blocked.

Hi, I am trying to migrate to Proxmox VE 8.3 from Truenas Scale, and I have a ZVOL I need to share with a device
Couple places where I'm confused:
Is there the a commonly-accepted way to create a target for a ZVOL? Should I just be following Debian instructions? I don't see it in the Proxmox docs.

After upgrading to 8 accessing my pi-hole web interface would cause my entire system to crash requiring a hard reset. The pi-hole would still work for DNS. When looking at the syslog I see:
