Subskription Laufzeit und Verlängerung

Hallo Forum,

When I look at the dashboard it reports:

72 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v4 @ 2.30GHz (2 Sockets)

What is physically installed:

28 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v4 @ 2.60GHz (2 Sockets)

Why would these be different?
Version 8.0.3

Thank
Brad

Speichererweiterung mit Problemen

Hallo,

Setting up multiple networks between PVE

Hi !

I have installed a PVE hypervisor on the physical server. It is connected to the enterprise's shared network through the vmbr0 virtual switch created by default.
An IP address associated with vmbr0 has been assigned. My idea was to create a virtual machine inside the PVE and make this VM a virtual router.
After creating the VM, I connected vmbr0 to it and assigned it the same IP address that was previously linked to the PVE management.
Then I created 3 more virtual switches (vmbr1...

Detect USB device ID change

I have a USB device connected to my Proxmox server which is used by a container/LXC. The container uses USB passthrough and has the USB device added as "Device (dev0) - /dev/bus/usb/001/004". This works fine until I restart/have to restart my Proxmox server. Than the device ID in Proxmox might have changed to "dev/bus/usb/001/007" which than causes the LXC to not start (as it can't find the original device with ID "/dev/bus/usb/001/004".
Is there a way for LXCs to be more dynamic in dealing...

Is there any kind of incompatible data?

Hi. I'm using PBS to backup my data. There's a ct running a nextcloud instance, and that ct has a separate mount point for the data (~100GB). I run at os level the proxmox backup client for that directory, and found out that there are errors that I'm currently debugging. Also, take into account that users can run into "bad practice", but that shouldn't be a technical problem from a datastore storage point of view as long as ext4 can manage the file. SMART says the disks are OK.

At this time...

Hello.

Please tell me, could downgrading the libpve-network-perl=0.10.0 package to version 0.9.8 using ansible lead to all cluster nodes simultaneously performing a hard restart?

[h=3]Situation[/h] We belive due to an older SEABIOS version in Proxmox our Windows VM's 7 + 2008 servers have the ability to 'Safely remove' critical hardware like the disk and network cards. This is down to the Seabios having hot-swappable PCI enabled.

Is PVE install on top of Debian supported?

Hi, I am struggling to find a single definitive answer to this.

I've been tasked with commissioning a new cluster of 50x servers. I wish to deploy Promox to install in an automated manner via a PXE server. The official instructions on automation seem to to focus on creating a customised ISO file. Any guides on deploying over network seem to suggest automated Bookworm install and installing the appropriate PVE packages. I already have an automated Bookworm install set up but I am...

Will VM migrations still work with this cpu configuration

All the 3 nodes in our current proxmox production cluster have a AMD EPYC 7302P 16-Core cpu. Now we have to replace one node with a machine which has a AMD EPYC 9124 cpu.

Will VM migrations work with this different cpu setup without restarting the VMs if a VM is moved from a node to another node with a different cpu?

We have another cluster where one nodes cpu is different. On this clusters VMs can be migrated between the nodes but I have to restart the VMs on the new node when it is the...

hi,

I need some Input for troubleshooting a performance Issue I have on a Proxmox Backup Server I run.

Basically it's an off-site System that syncs with a production PBS. The Specs as follows:

- Supermicro Board + Chasssis

NVMe PCIe 5 benchmarking

Hello,

I'm benchmarking different storage setups on a new server and I've found an issue or strange behaviour.
The server has 4x KIOXIA KCMYXRUG3T84 on AMD EPYC, linking as expected on PCIe 5.
Running a single windows server VM on single disk reports reads about ~15GB/s, that is as expected for that drive.
Clonning that machine on to 4 disks and running the same test simultaneously, reports 15GB/s for every disk. nmon reports about aggregated 55GB/s at the hypervisor.

But, if I combine the...

Hello, I created a container that I would like to use as NAS. Since Proxmox is Linux, why use a dedicated NAS machine?
I have a question though. I passed a whole 16TB ZFS mirror to is and mounted in inside the LXC container in /mnt/something.
When I run the command zfs list on the host I can see it's a block device named subvol-containerID-disk-0. If I want to destroy the container, or simply move the block device to another machine, would I be able to mount it again? Right...

Cannot update windows 11 to 24H2 - CPU not supported

$

Hello,

For some reason i cannot get a number of my windows 11 pro vm updated to 24H2.

One of them started the update via windows updates but stopped and i get the same when trying to update via the setup.exe on the DVD.

I have tried a number of CPUs. The KVM64 and a number of the x86-64 CPUs. None of them are working.

Odd thing is that two of the VM did update with no issue.
