Hello everyone,
I'm encountering an issue while installing Proxmox on a server rented from OVH. I'm using the latest "Proxmox VE 8.2 ISO Installer" and the server is equipped with an "Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller 10-Gigabit X540-AT2" network card (which has two Ethernet ports).
During installation, Proxmox detects another USB network card (used by OVH), which is then configured as the primary network card.

Hello,
I am running 3 node proxmox cluster on version 8.3.0. I have CEPH 19.2.0 installed on each node. I am running 3 monitors and managers, healt status is OK. On each node I have Samsung 990 Pro nvme drive, dedicated for CEPH OSD. No matter what i try, no matter what order i pick I always end with OSD as a ghost.

Hi,
I can't import ova with ceph.
I get the error "
scsi0: import working storage 'cephfs' does not support 'images' content type or is not file based."
I use cephfs for the ova, isos etc. and cephpool for my vms/ct
Have I made a mistake or is it not possible to import via Ceph?

Hello.
I'm trying to enable the VNC following this:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/VNC_Client_Access
But seems not to be working. Even trying to use that:

Hello, for a very specific use case I have a debian LXC running virt-manager with 4 windows VMs.
In the summary of the LXC on the admin web console, it reports only 2.97% (974.54 MiB of 32.00 GiB) of RAM used.
whereas free -m in the LXC outputs:
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 32768 25485 128 24509 31664 7282
And all tools like btop also report a usage of around 25G

it all started with the idea to get an Intel N100 mini pc to run plex or jellyin on it
then i thought to myself, that it would be handy to make the mini pc my second PVE node (for easier management, backups etc) and use the ressources for maybe some other VMs too

I have a boot/system disk in my PBS system that shows some SMART errors. I am a bit concerned and want to replace that disk with another fresh one. All data is on a second disk, a ZFS volume. The system disk in formatted as EXT4.
Now I installed a new PBS on a secondary server using the same IP/hostname as the first one (still offline though). Is there a way to migrate over the configuration from the old PBS to the new one once I have booted up the new? As I wrote, all backups are still on...

ich habe da ein kleines Problem. Ich habe mir einen Server bei Hetzner angemietet und dort Proxmox installiert.
Zudem läuft auf dem Proxmox als VM Opensense. Die restlichen VMs beziehen ihre ip über die Firewall und internet anfragen laufen auch über die Firewall.
Site2Site VPN läuft auch. Also ich kann meine VMs in der Cloud erreichen so wie die meines Home Netzes. Da ich hier einen ESX Server stehen habe würde ich gern die VMs von diesem gerne migrieren wollen. Meine Idee...

We have a single-node Proxmox setup with one VM, which is a Proxmox Backup Server.
The node has a total storage capacity of 20 TB, of which 14 TB is allocated to the VM. Currently, the VM has used 6 TB of storage, leaving about 8 TB available within the VM. However, Proxmox VE is showing a total usage of 18.93 TB out of 20 TB. the disk configured with btrfs
I’m not sure where the remaining storage has gone. Does anyone have any insights?

Hi,
After last update, just one of my nodes throws the
Code:
Cannot open iommu_group: No such file or directory
error.
The nodes are different Intel nodes, with integrated gpu, the other two are working fine:
Working:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700T
Not working anymore:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700T
Is there any way to make it work again without rolling back all of the cluster?

My vzdump task to SMB-NAS fails if uncompressed is selected. Switching to a compressed (zstd) dump works. Also an uncompressed vzdump to a NFS share on the same target machine works. Suspect it is something with the SMB share configuration - default done via the Datacenter Storage GUI. Also system log on source and target machine is "empty" in regards to the problem.

This is my first post on here or pretty much any forum; please forgive me if my decorum is not to spec. I'm trying to run Nox Player in a windows 10 pro VM. I have passed a gpu to this VM which works; I can run PoE on the system and it runs pretty smooth (not sure if this is related or not but it's the only thing of note about the VM). Hello, I've updated to Proxmox 8.0.3 some days ago and yesterday after rebooting the server using the
reboot command, one of my zfs datasets is now empty (the other dataset on the same pool are fine).

PVE install is ok, i can connect to Ihm admin.

switch to proxmox hosts with FC SAN and a central high performance storage
Hello, in order to convert a high-performance FC environment from vmware to proxmox, I currently see no solutions as they were given in vmware.
This principle is not (yet) supported by proxmox? Is the only solution to convert to SCSI and eliminate the FC to use high availability environment solutions and snapshots etc?
