P4 vGPU Install Error

P4 vGPU drivers won’t install . Keep getting the below error. Log attached. Any ideas?

Newbie... Question about about RAID 1, ZFS and migrating data

Sorry for what seems like a stupid question, but i just want to make sure.
A google says this is possible, but i wanted to double check in a bit more detail..

I have an R220 running Hyper V:
120GB SSD for the windows host OS running veeam for backups.
500GB SSD running the VM OS's
2x 8TB drives in RAID 1 (perc H310, no IT mode) holding the bulk of data for the VMs and general file sharing etc < This is the data I'm most concerned about.

Over the weekend, in a cluster of 5 nodes, one lost connection with its neighbors. HA worked normally and migrated the VM to another node. The node itself rebooted. Could HA reboot it or some service, there is nothing about the reboot in the logs.

Greetings all,

I'm new to Proxmox, but have been working with VMWare for years. I'm currently trying out different storage solutions for my home lab. My primary storage server has a combo of two pools: BigPool (hdds with SSD logs and cache) and BigSSD (all ssds). When I was running VMWare hosts, I was simply using TGT as the iscsi target and pointing the hosts to it. Since Proxmox, I've tried that, tried ceph, and wanted to give ZFS over ISCSI a go.

I know there are lots of topics and tutorials which I have reviewed and I have an issue with installing the driver.
I am on 6.8.12-2-pve currently, and ran

Hello everyone, sorry for my bad english,

I am new to proxmox and I am trying to install a dual-boot (OpenIndiana and Windows 11 Pro, this is my school task).
I have created a VM, then I have added OpenIndiana iso file in Hardware options, and then start the VM.
I had an "access denied" so I went to "Device Manager" > "Secure Boot Configuration" > disabled

Issue with Duplicate Disks Displayed in Proxmox

I am experiencing an issue in my Proxmox environment where I see four instances of the same disk, all showing the same WWN. I am utilizing a SAN storage system and allocating disk space using a pathing method.

Could you help me understand why the same disk is appearing multiple times? Is this a common issue when using SAN storage, or could it be related to the configuration of the HBA or storage itself?

I have been envisioning a move from my own kvm ubuntu setup to proxmox.

I currently have the vm images already on a seperate storage (truenas underlying 15min snapshotted zvol)
with is mounted via iscsi as block device and formatted to ext4 which is housing the raw img files for kvm
(to restore which were rare, needed some action on truenas / expose snapshot as new iscsi ro-share and a mount and copy over to live)

I am pondering if I should just keep this setup and mount it via cli...

Considering Proxmox use case...doubts.

Hello all.
I´m planning to setup a new system and trying to determine the best way to implement it. The idea is to have a unique system where I can run Ubuntu's the main system, having Windows and MacOS to run certain apps that have no linux versions. It includes graphic programs in Ubuntu and MacOS. I'll have a Nvidia GPU for those. I've been reading that virtualized MacOS has many limitations, so these apps can be run in Windows if necessary.

PVE Firewalls and SIP

I am having a very strange problem with firewalling a VM, which is a virtual PBX. I've spent a bit of time troubleshooting this and I simply cannot figure out what is happening. I consider myself pretty well-versed in PVE and FW, literally hundreds of VMs across a few clusters, many with complex firewall setups that work just fine. I've made this issue as basic as I can. This is a Linux VM with a VirtIO network card.

ESTALE: Stale file handle

I'm having this issue since a couple weeks.
Backup would fail with this error.

It usually juste need to reboot PBS server to fix the issue, but it's very annoying.
Is there something I could do to solve this?

I'm backing up to a Local PBS server, running in a VM and then it's remote sync to another PBS instance running in AWS.

Proxmox Kernel 6.8.12-2 Freezes (again)

Hello there,

I’ve updated to Proxmox Kernel 6.8.12-2 and have freezes again on my servers. With 6.8.12.-1 it was nearly stable (just one server had issues).

Unfortunately nothing in the logs, the server is dead and need to be rebooted manually.

Anyone with the same experience? Any further idea to fix that issue to 100%?

OPNsense VM Config

Hello all,

I have built an OPNsense VM on my Proxmox 8.2.7 server. The VM has a LAN and WAN side. I have also built a simple Ubuntu desktop VM, so I could configure the OPNsense VM via its GUI. I cannot ping the OPNsense VM from the Ubuntu desktop and vice versa. Both VMs are on the same vmbr/vlan on the Proxmox server. Both have manual IP configs. I even took it one more step and made the gateway of the Ubuntu desktop the IP of the OPNsense VM LAN side.

Hello, we are looking to migrate from VMware and wanted to see if it's possible to install NVidia host vGPU manager? when i attempt to install the host driver i get the following error.

Storage sinnvoll ins Backup integrieren

Hallo zusammen,

ich möchte derzeit eine kleine IT Umgebung anständig konfigurieren, damit mir auch ja keine Daten flöten gehen. In Verwendung sind die VE und der PBS. Weiterhin wird ein Storage mit einem Debian 12 und RAID 10 durch Hardware Controller als NFS derzeit im Netzwerk verwendet (Größe: 100 TB). Die Daten auf dem Storage möchte ich nun gerne mit Hilfe des PBS sichern (Baugleicher Server wie der Storage, allerdings RAID 60).

Issue with iScsi offline on one node in cluster

Hi,

I have a 3 node cluster all three nodes are connected to teh same switch 2 x are in a LACP bond and one is just a single link all 3 connect to an iSCSI nas for storage for the VM's

One day ( after a hard lock up ) my 2nd node willl not see teh iscsi storage with teh UI saying it is offline. I can ping the IP address from teh shell of the node and the other 2 x nodes in the cluster are working fine.

I ahve restarted this several times updated it and removed and re added the storage...
