ZFS mirror various disk size

Hello everyone,

VMs won't start - QEMU Binary issue

I've been having trouble since I tried to enable a thunderbolt drive connected to my server. Now whenever I go to start a VM or create a new one, I get the following error

R730 Raid1 Fails to boot

Hello, I'm new to using proxmox, and I have an issue:
I installed a dual M.2 PCIe card on my R730 with 2 brand new SSDs that are the same type, and at the installation screen, I chose both SSDs to be in a RAID1 configuration.
However, upon rebooting my server, I get this error: ˯ Screen Shot 2024-08-02 at 8.28.03 p.m..png
It seems like the server doesn't want to boot from proxmox for whatever reason, and I confirmed that this might be an issue with the RAID1 configuration by installing proxmox as RAID0 on both SSDs...

We have HPE Synergy with the 3820 10/20GB CNA card connected to the MSA 2050 Storage via FC. LUN Allocated to the Server's . However when we check from the Proxmox console its not finding any FC adapters . Please provide some suggestion .

Proxmox install not showing usb devices

Hi everyone

just installing proxmox for the first time and I am booting it off a usb stick which works fine. When it comes to picking the drive to install to the only drives that show in the drop down are my sata drives. I have an internal usb2 slot on my motherboard which I have an external ssd plugged into that I would like to install to.

is there a way to get proxmox to display usb drives as an option on the drop down menu to install to?

appreciate any advice

Nun stehe ich vor der Herausforderung, zwei Windows Server 2019 VMs (einer davon ist der DC der andere RDS), auf neue Hardware zu migrieren da die alte zu langsam geworden ist bzw. auf dem alten Server als Hypervisor der Windows Server 2012 läuft. Need to reset Networking

Hey,
I have a Proxmox VE installation on which i had my DNS Server and some other stuff.
I accidentally deleted vmbr0 as network bridge.
I tried a reatsrt but after that my vms couldnt start again because vmbr0 wasnt there.
I manually added a vmbr0 and now i cant even access the WebUI anymore...

If i restart the system and try to ping anything it says "Temporary failure in host resolution" and I have to run
dhclient -r
dhclient
To get an IP and reset the resolv.conf to get anything...

Custom kernel doesn't boot on proxmox

I have built a 6.10 kernel using clang (with .config from generic ubuntu) on Ubuntu 24.04. I am able to run it on Ubuntu but not on Proxmox.
On Proxmox, I get following error:

Alert! /dev/mapper/pve-root does not exist. Dropping to shell

Running lvm pvscan returns nothin, and adding rootdelay=10 to grub also didn't help.
I was trying to re-generate the initrd image for this kernel on Proxmox but the same problem still exists.
I was also trying to build custom kernel directly...

Hello, im struggling to determine why my device that runs proxmox started to suddenly reboot at random times.

SYS logs have no explanation that would lead me on to something. Where else can i look? What else can i do?

I started to notice that yesterday, who knows when it really started to happen.

This morning i disabled postfix as i usually do, because i dont have email configured, and it spams logs.

Then it was working good, i logged in to check if it was running, then went to other...

I'm looking to set up FreeIPA on Proxmox as a container instead of a VM, but I can't seem to find any templates for it in the available Proxmox templates. Is there a way to download the template offline and then add it to the Proxmox templates?

PBS stops responding on update

Running the latest PBS as a stand-alone I've ran into an issue then machine becomes unavailable.
Both console and network no longer respond. Sometimes console seems sluggish to respond, then stops.

My observation and impression is this is after proxmox-backup-daily-update ran.
To that end I disabled all of the below and re-enable the timers after 24 hours each.

proxmox-backup-daily-update.timer
apt-daily-upgrade.timer
man-db.timer

only proxmo-backup-daily-update.timer now remains disabled...

Safe to live migrate a running VM that runs MS-SQL?

I currently use ZFS with replication between the nodes on the same cluster. Normally I never experienced any issues of moving an active VM between the nodes but have to wonder is it safe to do that when a VM is running MS-SQL? Or shouldn't matter long as it's not very busy VM and captures the RAM during migration?

I usually just shutdown the MS-SQL VM before moving it to another node to be safe.

I have other VMs running MySQL and PostgreSQL without issues with live migrations. Just...

the last months I followed the discussions on Proxmox VE 8.2 released! and skipped the update of my PVE instance so far. I am still afraid, that updating my server to the latest available updates on the No Subscription Repo could break my system and to be honest, I feel I am not really up-to-date with all possible issues on this update, even that I read a lot here in this forum.

ich habe mit iperf3 mal das Netzwerk für das Ceph getestet. Dabei komme ich kau über 50Gbit bei einer 100Gbit Karte.
Ist das nicht etwas langsam?
