network not working in AQC107 after kernel upgrade

hi,

I have a couple of proxmox nodes on my network, one running an AQC107 over thunderbolt 3, another running an AQC113 over an m.2 interface.
After upgrading both these nodes to the latest kernel version (6.8.8-1) and restarting, the AQC107 node won't ever connect to my network, while the node running the AQC113 works fine (relevant, as both run the same kernel module). Rolling back to 6.8.4-3 solves it, but is not ideal.

Container storage sub volume disappeared

On Sunday I manually shut down my proxmox ve server for a planned power outage. During this process I did the following:
1: shut down my samba file server container (#107)
2: deleted an old test VM (VM105)
-there was an option to included purging unreferenced disks, I wanted to recover the storage space so I enabled this thinking it would ONLY purge the storage referenced by THIS vm (vm105).
3: shut down my other vm's and containers (pfsense, etc)
4: shut down the host after waiting for all...

Hi. I just experienced something really weird and I hope someone here may be able to shed some light on this.

I run proxmox 4.4-5 on a zfs mirror and use that as boot disk and primary vm storage. I noticed just now that a container would not come up after a reboot attempt. The log shows: Error: command ‘lxc-start -n 105’ failed: exit code 1. So I attempted to start the container manually in foreground mode with "lxc-start -n 105 -F -lDEBUG". Hi everyone! This is my first post here so bear with me. I hope I don't break too many rules but I didn't find any guidelines.

I've been looking for a solution to enable bridge-vlan-aware on Mellanox ConnectX-4 LX (MCX4121A-ACAT, firmware 14.32.1010) on Proxmox 8.0.1 (6.2.16-4-pve) with the inbox driver. network no longer works

Hello,

I really need your help,
When I wanted to create Vlans and manage them through Pfsens with an l2 switch, I changed my mind and invested in an l3 switch.

I wanted to deactivate pfsens and the proxmox vlan, but since then I can't access proxmox from the network.

I've tried several things but I can't seem to get a network back.

Yet proxmox displays the ip 192.168.0.200 on the connection page.

I'd just like to restore the basic configuration.

I have a HP Proliant ML30 Gen9 server and I have installed an Intel X520-DA2 NIC. With the default Proxmox 8 kernel, 6.2.16-4-pve, the ixgbe driver fails to load with the following errors:

Hallo Zusammen,

ich habe zum zweiten mal einen merkwürdigen Seiteneffekt festgestellt:

Hat Proxmox Probleme, sind keine DHCP Anfragen mehr möglich. Außer man deaktiviert die Netzwerkports, fährt die Server runter oder nimmt sie irgendwie vom Netz.

Wir haben einen Cluster mit zwei baugleichen Lenovo Servern geerbt. Der damalige Admin hatte eine pfSense mit managed HP Switchen, den 2-Server Cluster mit RAID und ZFS konfiguriert. So wie vorhanden haben wir das erstmal laufen lassen, um dann...

Proxmox freezes randomly

Hi,

For a coupel of days mine proxmox servers stops responding at random times i need to hard restart the server to get it back running.

I noticed this happens when one VM has a lot of load on it or when i start Firefox on a Ubuntu VM.

There is nothing in the logs that gives an explination and the VM settings are whitin the limits of the server.

Any help?

My server spec:

CPU: AMD Epyc 7742
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3090
RAM: 512GB DDR4 RDIMM ECC


Today my Proxmox 8 nded up having the following error:

Missing location specific letters and accented chars in LXC

Good morning, I'm running a qbittorrent LXC and today I discovered that when I download anything with accented chars the filenames get all mangled up with replacement chars, for example there is no ã, õ, ç, á,à, etc letters.
I also can't type those letters on the LXC console, /etc/locale.gen is set to en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8, also tried to set it to pt_PT but its still missing all those accents.
My base proxmox is set to the same en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8 and it works fine.

High IO.Delay (15-30%) doing any disk related work on node

Hi, I'm new to ProxMox VE, worked professionally with VmWare for many years.
I have a small homelab running on a Dell T320 with a raid 5 array on 7 disks (+ one spare)
ProxMox itself is installed on a samsung SSD, 250gb
Every time I make a snapshot or run a backup I get IO delays in the region of 15-30-40% and everything slows down to a crawl

My old VmWare ESXi 7 ran on the exact same setup and had no problem with IO delay what so ever.....

If ProxMox wan't to be a serious...

Micro segmentation/port isolation - what is the best way to go about this

We're experimenting with proxmox and I'm hoping I'll be able to bring it in to replace VMware.

One of the things I very much would like to do for "DMZ" servers is have microsegmentation/port-isolation (ie the only way for them to talk to other servers is through the firewall).

I could of course create a lot of vlans but that is not really scalable in the long run (since the number of vlans is limited to 4000, though I don't expect to have that many vms having a vlan per vm would still...

Wir haben ein neues "Problem".
Wir haben einen 3-Node Proxmox-Cluster mit CEPH auf KRBD umgestellt. Das funktioniert auch ganz normal und performant.

Allerdings haben wir das Problem das zumindest auf einem Cluster wenn das Backup startet (Proxmox Backup Server) das syslog zugespamed wird mit folgenden Meldungen.

ZFS mounts dont come up after kernel 6.8.8-2 update

I have a ZFS on deban bookworm installation link after last kernel update and a reboot several ZFS mounts did not came up (e.g. /var/log). after zfs mount -a and a reboot they come up. Has anybody why they did not came up? maybe no coincidence with the kernel update.

Weird double server entry and a entry of a deleted machine

Hello

I have a weird issue on my second host.
I am not sure what i did exactly (i did change the hostname to all capital) :)
But now i have the strange thing that there is a double entry of my server in the datacenter view.
The bottom one should not be there.
Also there is a machine with Nr1 100 there that i already deleted.
The second picture is what i get when i click on the 100 entry.
I want to remove the Host02 entry but i don`t know how.
So i need help how to. Does anyone know how to...

No DNS resolution in virtual maschines

Hello,
I used this instructions to create a virtual net with dhcp and dns:

In the virtual maschine I get a Ip address, i can ping 1.1.1.1 but I cannon ping google.de. On the proxmox shell I can ping google.de without problems, only in VMs it is not possible. Can somebody help me to solve this problem? Thank you.
