WEB-interface does not have information about nodes and VM/LXC status

Hello!

As you can see on attached screenshot, WEB interface does not have information about nodes and VM/LXC status. VMs and LXC worsk fine, also I can open SSH to proxmox or shell in web-interface.

How can I debug this situation?

Help with Replication

Hi There,

I have just setup Proxmox replication with HA, however all my existing VMs are in LVM format. As I understand it, I can only use ZFS or would only really be beneficial to use ZFS for replication. I am not

What are my options here? Can I convert my LVM virtual disks to ZFS, or do I need to completely set the VM up again from scratch?

Proxmox reboots after "Purging GPU memory"

Hi,

My Proxmox server is sometimes rebooting in the night. The message "pve kernel: Purging GPU memory, 0 pages freed, 0 pages still pinned, 1 pages left available." is then thousands of times in the log within a timespan of ~5 minutes.

Can someone help me to fix this?

New to pbs, questions about a backup system, with offsite storage

I have been using Proxmox VE in my homelab (a few vms and containers on the host and a few Linux clients) for some years now, but never had a good and reliable backup system.

After having evaluated several solutions (Urbackup, Duplicaty and borg), I recently discovered Proxmox Backup, and I am pretty sure, that it could be a very well suited solution for all my needs.

Official way to backup proxmox VE itself?

Is there any official guide on how to backup proxmox VE itself?

My main concern is the amount of work that I have put in to make the current setup work, e.g. GPU passthrough etc.
If that breaks due to updates etc, I would like to have a way to quickly revert back to the last known working state.

Is Proxmox backup server able to do it? and is it the only way?
Or is there some way that is built-in to Proxmox VE itself?

I, unfortunately, disrespected this warning several month ago while tried to configured Let's Encrypt SSL on primary node of my cluster (4 nodes)

Do not replace or manually modify the automatically generated node certificate files in /etc/pve/local/pve-ssl.pem and /etc/pve/local/pve-ssl.key or the cluster CA files in /etc/pve/pve-root-ca.pem and /etc/pve/priv/pve-root-ca.key.

vm ID ändern mit local-lvm-disk ...

Ich habe vorschnell versucht eine ID einer vm zu ändern.

von 101 auf 1001. jetzt versuche ich die disk auch umzubenennen


scsi0: local-lvm:vm-1001-disk-1,iothread=1,size=2G
scsi1: local-lvm:vm-1001-disk-0,cache=unsafe,iothread=1,size=45G,ssd=1

so steht es jetzt in der 1001.conf drin, aber ich finde die zugehörige Disk-Datei nicht. Aktuell müsste das ja vm-101-disk-1 sein

Hallo liebes Forum,

ich habe Probleme mit meinem CEPH. Ganz genau lokaliesieren kann ich das Problem leider nicht. Am Anfang habe ich es auch gerne Verdrängt, bzw. ist mir im Testing nicht aufgefallen.
Ganz verschweigen will ich nicht, dass ich nicht die Ideale Anforderung an CEPH fahre bzw. Umgesetzt habe. Gründe später.
Seit dem im Ceph aber ein PostgreSQL-Server läuft werden die Ausmaße leider sichtbar und sorgt für sehr viel Unmut im Unternehmen.
Es gibt eine handvoll Themen zu CEPH...

qm Parameter --migrate_downtime

Hallo,

vom Proxmox Support wurde ich auf den Parameter --migrate_downtime hingewiesen, mit dem laut Manpage die "maximum tolerated downtime (in seconds)" eingestellt werden kann. Doch wenn ich diesen Parameter angebe, passiert folgendes:
qm migrate 112 pve1-03 --migration_network 192.168.2.0/24 --migration_type insecure --online true --migrate_downtime 0.001
Unknown option: migrate_downtime
400 unable to parse option
qm migrate <vmid> <target> [OPTIONS]

Weiß jemand, ab welcher Version dieser...

ESXI To Proxmox VE

Hallo Zusammen,

wir haben einen Server mit 3 separaten Logical Volumes in Esxi. Soweit ich gesehen habe ist VMFS der Typ von den Logical Volumes.
Wir würden gerne von esxi auf Proxmox umsteigen. Da es aber auf einfachem Weg für uns nicht möglich ist alle VM's auf einen Proxmox Server umzuziehen, den Server neu zu installieren und anschließend wieder die VM's zu importieren, würden wir das gerne anders machen.

Jetzt stellt sich uns die Frage, ob es möglich ist, Proxmox auf eines der Logical...

Problem mit einem uralt Suse Server

Hallo,

Seid etwa 7 Jahren betreiben wir unseren siclimat Server unter Proxmox.
Die ersten Jahre waren vollkommen Problemlos. Ich denke seid dem Update auf Proxmox 6 haben wir sehr selten das Problem das der Server einfach festgeht.
Es kann mal ein halbes Jahr ohne Probleme gehen und dann kommt das Problem gleich zwei mal in der Woche vor.
Linuxseitig ist in den Logs nichts auffälliges zu sehen.

Hallo werte Community,

habe zu diversen Testzwecken einige VMs am Laufen. Möchte gern ein bischen probieren und testen.

Linux läuft bereits fehlerfrei in der VM. Nun habe ich als zweite VM einmal Win11 installier. Dazu habe ich auch einen Key, den ich aber noch nicht aktiviert habe und noch nicht möchte. Soll eventuell später als reine Installation auf einem System laufen. Egal.
Mein Problem besteht darin, dass ich mich in der VM nicht mit meinem Benutzerdaten anmelden kann, gleichwohl...

I need some Input for troubleshooting a performance Issue I have on a Proxmox Backup Server I run.

Basically it's an off-site System that syncs with a production PBS. The Specs as follows:

- Supermicro Board + Chasssis
- Dual E-2680v4 Xeon (2x 14c)
- 128GB RAM
- 2x 480gb Seagate Nytro SSD (boot)
- 12x 20TB Seagate Exos / SAS
- 3x 2TB Samsung PM9A3
- Quantum Superloader 3 / LTO9

Now, the Datastore is configured as ZFS RAIDZ2, and has a ZFS special device in form of a 3-way mirrored...

I have had a problem with GPU passthrough since updating to 8.2. The VM to which I have passed the GPU no longer starts and has the following error message:

Node - NTFS usb drive appears then disappears at startup

Greetings,
I have an NTFS USB hard drive plugged in my mini PC.
I have installed ntfs-3g.
When I reboot the Proxmox node, the "Disks" section shows the disk. "Lsblk" command also shows the disk ("sda"-> "sda1")

However, only a few seconds after, the USB drive disappears from both "Disks" and "Lsblk".
But the device can still be seen under "lsusb".

EDIT : I have an OMV VM. It seems that shutting it down "liberates" the hard drive, and i can see it back in the "Disks" and "Lsblk" section. Is...

Offline VM migration causing I/O delays

Hi all,

We are noticing that offline migrations are a lot more resource intensive than live-migrations.
Because of this, when we perform offline migrations running VMs on the destination node are experiencing I/O delays. We are using lvm-thin storage. Disks are 6 Intel D3-4620 SSDs in RAID10.

I have the following log of a VM migration:
