Problem/message L1TF CPU bug and data leak

Hi.
To test different things, I installed the PVE several times on the same machine.
So I always had a fresh system.

The machine is a Fujitsu RX300 S7 with a XEON E5-2630L.

I get the following error message after the installation:

L1TF CPU bug present and SMT on, data leak possible. See CVE-2018-3646 and https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/admin-guide/hw-vuln/l1tf.html for details.

PVE was then updated, but that did not work either. The message is still coming.

Moving Large Directory Between ZFS Datasets – Safe Strategy

Hi all,

I have an LXC container on Proxmox that stores ~9.7TB of data under /zbiornik-alpha/subvol-100-disk-0/nas. This is a ZFS dataset with refquota=15T, and it's about 70% full. I’d like to move /nas into a separate ZFS dataset (/zbiornik-alpha/shared-nas) so it can be mounted into multiple containers.

Here’s the concern:

If I run, on Proxmox:

Backup / Restore

Hello, i have proxmox 8.3.0 installed on a I7-8700 32 GB ram, installed on a nvme 1TB.
i connect a USB drive (3.0) for my backup, this one is a 1TB HD. 5400RPM SATA 6Gb/s 3.5-inch Hard Drive.


i have a 2 points.

1. Taking the backup is really slow.

i think the speed backing up very very very slow, i suspect something is not right.

Iv tried 3 different backup : with zStd, gZip and "none".
all 3 where slow as a turtle, i know this machine is not a server by any stretch, but still...

Roblox VM detection - can be overcome?

Hello,

I'm setting up a Win11 VM for gaming use. Unfortunately, Roblox anticheat detects the use of VM's and does not allow the game to work. I have played around with the conf, but nothing seems to be working. I also passed through a GPU which should make it work but hasn't. (I'm a beginner; please tell me anything you need to help.)

New Proxmox VDI Solution (Planning in Progress)

I am currently in the planning phase for my next personal project. A native VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) solution. No code is available at this time.

I have moved multiple VM environments to Proxmox and use Proxmox for my own use, and figured that contributing a vmware horizon "like" VDI solution on top of Proxmox would be a great way to contribute to the community. Below is a quick list of things I plan to support.

Proxmox 8.3 gets hung after few hours

I've installed Proxmox 8.3 on a barebones PC I have. After about 4-6 hours of just letting it run the PC would freeze or get hung and the PC is not responsive forcing me to reboot manually. I've had this PC for about 6 years or more running WIN10 with no freezing issues. I took the PC to my local shop to have hardware checked and everything came back working fine. They installed an older version of Proxmox VE (8.0.3) and the PC ran all weekend no issues. Once I got it back home and ran apt...

Quarantined untracked messages

Hi,

I have several messages in the Virus Quarantine that are not tracked in the ‘Tracking centre’.

Compared to all other messages I see these differences
  • A single Received header
  • The SPF record has the +ALL option

Hallo, bislang lief Proxmox auf meinem MSI MS-9A85 problemlos. Gestern habe ich die neuesten Updates für Proxmox auf 8.3.5 eingespielt. Seit dem bleibt nach kurzer Zeit (mehrere Minuten bis Stunden) das System hängen. Kein Zugriff mehr auf die Bedienoberfläche möglich. Während der kurzen Laufzeit konnte ich keine Probleme in den LOGs feststellen.
Wie kann ich dem Problem auf den Grund gehen?
Irgend welche Tipps?

ich habe aktuell Probleme beim Mounten eines Host-Verzeichnisses in einer Debian 12 VM unter Proxmox. Ich möchte VirtIO-FS verwenden, um ein Verzeichnis vom Host zur VM zu mounten. Hier sind die Schritte, die ich versucht habe, sowie die Probleme, die auftreten.

Hi. I switched from one PMG cluster to another. Everything is fine on the old cluster. But on the new one I don't see any SA Scores in the logs. grep -r "SA score" /var/log are empty.

Node reboot while disk operation in Ceph

Hallo,
ich hatte mir bei einer Hau-Ruck-Aktion leider weniger Zeit genommen, als es sinnvoll gewesen wäre und dabei mehr "kaputt gemacht" als ich wollte.
ich versuche zu beschreiben, was ich getan habe und was der aktuelle Stand ist.
Dass ich dabei Dinge gemacht habe, die nicht gut überlegt und "doof" waren, weiß ich selbst, aber vielleicht habt ihr ein oder zwei Tipps für mich, wie ich es wieder zurückbauen kann.
....und am Ende lerne ich aus solchen Dingen erfahrungsgemäß am meisten, also...

Hallo Proxmox-Community,

Proxmox ist mir nicht neu, ich habe schon vor 7 Jahren kleine Umgebungen (keine Cluster) in den produktiven Betrieb geschickt. Nun bin ich für eine Wiener KMU tätig welche aus allgemein bekanntem Anlass Proxmox evaluiert und ein klein wenig auch versucht zu pitchen.
