Proxmox installation stuck on 3% "Creating LV's" PLEASE HELP GUYS

Im trying to install Proxmox on Lenovo I7 laptop but I am stuck on 3% "Creating LV's.

Proxmox cluster health

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to Proxmox, and so far, I really like it. Today, I attempted to connect my two OVH servers to run as a cluster over the private NIC. Everything seemed to work fine until I started experiencing timeouts on the second server through the UI. After some troubleshooting, I realized I had forgotten to open the Corosync ports in the firewall. Once I quickly deactivated the firewall, everything started working fine. Relay access denied

Hello.

Tried really everything but when i use a smarthost to route out email to the pmg for filtering, the pmg rejects the email with a RELAY ACCESS DENIED error.

- I added the ip to the networks list
- I point the smarthost to port 25
- Checked the postfix config if ip is whitelisted

LACP Problem with DELL R760 Server and 2 Network Cards

Hello,
we have a strange problem with the Proxmox server. We have DELL R760 servers with 4 x 25 GbE onboard cards (Broadcom) and an additional 2 x 25 GbE AddOn PCI card (Broadcom). A LACP Bond 802.3ad has been set up. The bond is stable. However, if we fetch data via this channel from a VM from the Internet or another data source, the connection can be slow at first, e.g. if you do an SCP or WGET. If you call the command several times, the connection is suddenly fast.

Hi there.

I am trying to implement a Full Mesh network with 3 servers.

My 3 nodes has:
2x 1G NIC
Port1 = eno8303
Port2 = eno8403
for the LAN and PVE access. This is my vmbr0 in each server.

ich plane, TrueNAS als virtuelle Maschine (VM) unter Proxmox zu betreiben. Mein Ziel ist es, zwei SSDs und zwei HDDs per SATA-Passthrough an die TrueNAS-VM durchzureichen.

  • Hardware:
    • Board: ASROCK B650M PG Lightning
    • 4x SSD (NVMe) - nur proxmox
    • 2x SSD (SATA) - truenas systemplatten
    • 2x HDD (SATA) - truenas datengrab

Problem with tap100i0 Windows Server 2022 Standard HP Gen8 Microserver

I am having this issue with Windows VM where the VM boots and then after about 15mins the remote desktop cuts out. Console freezes. Buttons do nothing. Have to force stop and reboot.

CPU and RAM fine. Performed DISM and sfc via recovery and completed.
Power saving features disabled
Ethernet offload disabled
HP Gen8 Microserver
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1265L V2
16GB RAM
Proxmox 8.3.5

Server fully updated.

Hallo zusammen,
seit dem Update meine Fritzbox 7590 auf 8.02 gibt es eine Auffälligkeit bei der Anzeige aktiver Netzwerkgeräte. Ich habe dazu bereits ein Ticket bei AVM.
Anlass war, das mein Telefon nicht mehr als aktiv erkennbar war und somit auch das SmartHome keine Anwesenheit feststellen konnte.
Inzwischen bin ich ein wenig tiefer in die Materie eingestiegen. AVM nutzt zur Erkennung LLDP. Ich habe hier einen Netgear GS724v4 und ein paar OpenWRT-Router als WLAN-APs.

The shift key does not work. Unable to use special characters within console but works when SSH is used.

Proxmox Helper Scripts - Do you all just spin up many LXCs or try to combine them??

I know that using LXC Containers is more resource friendly than using a full VM because you share the kernel and some other things among all the containers. Cool.

Now I have run in to many different apps that are easily deployable using the Helper Scripts and it is super cool that one-click and they are up and running.

I'm sure many of you have experienced the same.

But... is there any worry about wasting resources by having so many LXC Containers running for some pretty simple apps...

Speed up Backupserver by adding zfs special device ?

I like proxmox backup server but budget only allows magnetic disks and raidz2.
So especially verify and garbage collect procedures need a hell of a lot of time.
For an 8 TB Backup space today verify needs 2 days and garbage collect needs 1 day.
I think with verify there is not much i can do. Either do it or not.
But a garbage collection should be much faster with a ZFS Special Device on SSD, right ?
Now my questions:
Can I add a mirrored special device to a zfs raidz2 pool ? I read somewhere...

Can't connect to GUI after update & restart

I updated my pve 8.1 and then rebooted as new kernel packages had been installed.
I can't now connect to the PVE web interface!

I can ssh to the pve ip address (192.168.1.128)

Both "curl -k https://127.0.0.1:8006" and "curl -k https://192.168.1.128:8006" return a similar message

curl: (7) Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 8006 after 0 ms: Couldn't connect to server

The problem

An imported Gen2 Hyper-V VM won't boot. You get an EFI Shell or you are just stuck in the boot sequence.

When you go into the UEFI BIOS (press ESC during startup of the VM) you are able to make modifications and boot from a file. This works, but you are not able to save changes made in the BIOS. After shutting off the VM, the changes are lost and the VM doesn't boot anymore.

I know there are a few threads, some quite old, about how to go about getting working copy/paste via the built in noVNC console viewer. I tried following a few, taking bits and pieces and trying to make it work but none of them quite lined up.

In the end what seemed to work for me so far (Ubuntu 24.04.1 Desktop) is (from inside the VM)

Opt-in Linux 6.11 Kernel for Proxmox VE 8 available on test & no-subscription

We recently uploaded a 6.11 kernel into our repositories. The current 6.8 kernel will stay the default on the Proxmox VE 8 series, the newly introduced 6.11 kernel is an option.
The 6.11 based kernel may be useful for some (especially newer) setups, for example if there is improved hardware support that has not yet been backported to 6.8.
This follows our tradition of upgrading the Proxmox VE kernel to match the current Ubuntu version until we reach an (Ubuntu) LTS release, like the 6.8...

Nach Update "proxmox-kernel-helper" keine Updates mehr möglich

Hallo zusammen,

da ich selbst bereits mehrere Tage nach einer Lösung gesucht habe, jedoch immer wieder gescheitert bin, stelle ich nun meine Frage an das Forum:

Nach dem Update von proxmox-kernel-helper erhalte ich durchgehend die folgende Fehlermeldung:

unable to initialize AptPkg::Cache (500)

Lässt sich dieser Fehler ohne eine Neuinstallation beheben? Eine vollständige Wiederherstellung würde ich trotz vorhandener Backups gerne vermeiden.

grub won't read alternate drive

I'm having troubles with a fresh install of Proxmox (on a debian install), where I can't get grub (2.06-13+pmx5) to read alternate drives.

I had issues early with grub getting stuck on "Welcome to GRUB" earlier, after installing proxmox kernel, but grub-install in rescue mode fixed that.

When I do ls (hd4,gpt2) the cursor just hangs and never returns.

Interestingly, when I did this on 2.06-13+pmx3 I have no such issues.
