In Proxmox 8.3 I created two VMs with Windows Server 2019 enabling "QEMU guest agent" in Options. In the VMs I installed QEMU guest agent (108.0.2) and set the related services to start automatically at boot.

Every morning in these two VMs I find the "QEMU Guest Agent VSS Provider" service stopped. If I restart it, the service starts without problems.

I think the problem is related to the Proxmox Snapshot Backup that I automatically perform...

Hi all,
Newbie here...
setup a cluster with 4 nodes, 3 switches: 1 for management traffic (1gbit), 2 for production traffic (2x10g).
for now, because of the size of the cluster, the corosync network is on a vlan on the 2 production switches.

Unforeseen, the management switch rebooted today, causing all nodes to simultaneously reboot.
Which led to the question: why is this cluster rebooting. Corosync was up, the VMs were all running, shared storage was available.

Hello! We are currently running vSphere for our virtual environment, with our hosts connected to our SAN via SCSI. We are currently considering migrating to Proxmox, however, we are having trouble figuring out how to do this while using our existing SAN in its current configuration. Our SAN supports SCSI/iSCSI but not ZFS, NFS, CephFS, etc. iSCSI is an obvious option, but our research has indicated that functionality within Proxmox (snapshots, etc.) will be reduced, unless we are mistaken...

Reverse proxy and HestiaCP: cannot access from outside local network

Hi all,

I'm dealing with a problem for a couple of days. My proxmox NAT redirects the http/s to a local reverse proxy server (10.10.10.72).
When I try to reach mydomain.com, it redirects the traffic towards .3. That works with the reverse proxy setup on .72.
I've installed HestiaCP on .3, I can access to the panel through https://10.10.10.3:8083 on my local machine (debian with UI).

But when I try to access from the outside (panel.mydomain.com), I'm redirected to...

I'm running a Proxmox Backup Server on my Terramaster F2-423 with 32GB of RAM. I've got two NVMe drives in the system - one for the Proxmox VE host and the other for Ceph storage. My main storage consists of two 8TB Seagate CRM drives in a ZFS mirror configuration. I've passed these through to a PBS installation running in an LXC container, and this storage pool isn't shared with any other VMs or containers.

I have gotten this a couple of times and have been able to get past it, but I can no longer get me PVE sessions to start....

I've already tried:

lvchange -an pve/data
lvconvert --repair pve/data
lvchange -ay pve/data
qm unlock 100
reboot

I believe it may have to do with allocating too much drive space, but I've already enabled trim/discard but am still having issues.

I have no idea what else to try to get this back up and running. Would be super grateful for any assistance!!

Corrupted Ubuntu VMs over time

We have 6 servers in our datacenter mostly Proliant 380 gen 8 and 9 with raid card.
Running Proxmox 8.3.1 over Raid 50 on SAS drives one of our servers as 8 SATA SSD.

We encounter each month or so vm corruption 4 of our vms get corrupted almost at the same time on different pve.
They are all Ubuntu 22.04 +, our vm with ubuntu18 or 20 or Windows don't get corrupted. They reside on the local-lvm in raw format.

I was wondering if anybody encountered something similar.

Hi,

We have three PBS servers for our PVE, two on-site and one off-site.

All PVE backup to the same on-site PBS earch night, about 250 VMs and 60 TiB datastore

Then a remote sync job is launched both the on the second on-site PBS and a bit later on the off-site one.

So we're following the recommended architecture described in this thread:

However about once per month one of the remote sync fails...

Backup jobs konsolidieren

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe mehrere Backups Jobs in denen ich die VMs aufgeteilt habe (also anstatt 4 VMs in einem, zwei jobs mit je zwei VMs).
Wenn ich nun aber die zwei jobs zu einem konsolidiere, werden die Backup Stände erhalten und der job macht einfach weiter nur mit 4 VMs?

Ich vermute ja, da die Backups Jobs selbst nichts ändern außer zeitliche Abfolge und jede VM Backup selbstständig ist. Ist dies Korrekt?

Hello,
I'm unable to passtrought my iGPU Intel UHD Graphic 770 (embedded on my new I9-14900t PVE host processor).
After several trials according to this tutorial Proxmox forum tutorial (my case if with systemd-boot, not GRUB) , yellow triangle and exclamation still continue to be shown on Windows devices drivers/cards even if the Intel UHD Graphic 770 card seem to has been detected and after loaded and installed the most recent Intel video drivers.
