Hello,

I would like to know if there is a global hook feature.

It is possible to set a hook for a VM.
Code: 
hookscript: local:snippets/setvf.sh

However, I would like the script to be automatically played for all VMs/CTs.

"No Proxmox VE repository is enabled..." Error even when enterprise repositories are used

Hi,
we are using an offline mirror for the proxmox enterprise repositories and have removed the non-subscription one, but we still get the "error" that "No Proxmox VE repository is enabled ..." on the repository view of a node.

I checked the source code and it looks like the decision is made based on the URL.
Is that right and is there a way to adjust that somehow or do we just have to accept that to see the error?

PBS restore not restoring efi disk

I am running into restore problem. I have a Windows server 2025, the config has two zfs, one is restored as vm-101-disk-0, the EFI should restore a disk called vm-101-disk-1, but it never did.

The result is when I start the VM, it gives me error: TASK ERROR: timeout: no zvol device link for 'vm-101-disk-1' found after 300 sec.

Anything I did wrong? What do I need to do to fix this?

Local Storage filled up over the last couple of days

Hi, I have a proxmox server setup and it has been running great for over a year now but now the storage "local" that (idk why) has 100GB allocated to it is almost full and there is nothing stored on it ( at least not when I go throught the UI and click on every subtype that could be stored on there its all empty)

Hi All,

I plan to install the Proxmox Backup server and to set up backup via Tape library.

Can anyone shed info on whether PBS,
1. Support Dell SAS 12Gbps HBA card?
2. Support Dell ML3 tape library?

Also, will be much appreciated if provide a useful PBS with tape backup guides.

GUI showing wrong total space

Hello, I have installed PROXMOX VE 8.3 and PROXMOX BACKUP SERVER 3.3.
I have connected a NAS as datastore which has 5TB free space.
But when I see the panel of datastore Summary it shows Usage 12% of 213 GB
That is not true. See attached file.
So I am wondering if there is a graphical bug or I have configured something wrong ?

I'm working at a MSP which supports some 2 Node directattached storage VMware Clusters. I'm a Proxmox enthusiast and trying to lead our Business to turn away from Broadcom.
An older of my work mates stated following the docs our normal architecture (2 Server and MSA) is not feasible with Proxmox. IO Errors on our proxmox10 hypervisor

We are facing a weird problem on our proxmox10 hypervisor. Let me briefly describe what you need to know:
The hypervisor is a KI host which runs a VM for a customer. It has a ASRock Rack B650D4U-2L2T/BCM mainbaord with a AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU and a NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti is in the PCIe slot. It doesnt have the latest updates, its running pve-manager/7.4-17/513c62be.

Nested ESXi 8.0U2 on PVE 8.2-1

Hello all,

I'm facing a problem regarding nested ESXi 8.0U2on a PVE 8.2-1. The installation of the ESXi went fine, I could set the Management IP from the console, I'm able to ping this management IP from a remote computer, but from the remote computer, I'm unable to connect to the ESXi management UI https://managementip/ui. If I enable ssh on ESXi the same problem, I can't connect on ESXi SSH.

Do you have any idea or advice ?

The current guest configuration does not support taking new snapshots

Hi all,

I've had a look through the threads for users who have experienced the same issues with being unable to take snapshots on VM's, however, my VM's are using the qcow2 virtual disk format.

It weirdly seems limited to just the Windows Servers, however, Windows 10 Pro and Linux servers seem to be fine.

Dell PowerEdge R6615 fans revving up and down constantly

Hello,

we've got 3 Dell PowerEdge R6615 with an AMD Epyc 9174F in it and the fans are doing something weird. Most of the time they are at 8-9k RPM and fairly quiet. But every minute or 2 they are revving up to full speed (~ 24k) or half speed (~ 13k) and then back down.
There is almost no load on this system (we're in the evaluating steps rn), just proxmox + ceph and 3 CTs idling.

Im looking at the temps via IPMI and the CPU temp is around 50 to 55°C, but they dont seem connected...

Access & Allocate MMC/MMCBLK storage AFTER installation as general ISO space

So... yeah. I know not to install PVE onto anything but a real drive. I'm not attempting an unsupported install, here.

Instead, I am curious if there's any way to use an mmcblk device as general purpose storage. Not VMs, but for ISOs and such.
These devices do not seem to be accessible at all from the Web GUI's Node Disk Management interfaces. And it just so happens, that my machines' built-in SD card slot mounts to /dev/mmcblk#

Removed nodes still appearing in HA

Hello,
i have strange issue. I've removed few nodes from proxmox cluster that i have using the command
Code: 
pvecm delnode node1
and then removed the folders node1,2,3,4 located in /etc/pve/nodes/
Node is no longer existing in the node list, but i noticed that it is still showing in HA

qemu guest agent vss provider stopped (after backup?)

In Proxmox 8.3 I created two VMs with Windows Server 2019 enabling "QEMU guest agent" in Options. In the VMs I installed QEMU guest agent (108.0.2) and set the related services to start automatically at boot.

Every morning in these two VMs I find the "QEMU Guest Agent VSS Provider" service stopped. If I restart it, the service starts without problems.

I think the problem is related to the Proxmox Snapshot Backup that I automatically perform...

Bottleneck at 200 MiB/s?! 7 Node Ceph NVME & SSD Cluster

Hey friends,

Observing strange performance limitation.

EDIT: ALL SSD & NVME are Enterprise Level! No consumer stuff built in

Backups PBS & Veeam topping out at around 200 MiB/s..

Esp. Veeam is telling, the bottleneck is actually the "source", which is the ceph cluster.

Backup Vault is capable of much more than this (24 x 14 TBs ZFS Z2 volume)

Each node is utilizing MLAG with 2x 25Gbit/s.
VMs using 10Gbit/s NIC virtio.

None of the OSD is showing high latencies or commit/apply...

Can’t uninstall

So an Ubuntu VM gave me an error and I cannot for the life of me restart it. I decided to re-flash Ubuntu server on it but every time I get to the password field, I get an error that kicks up. For now, promos loads and lets me use the GUI but my VM also remains off line.

How to change the vm disk type(thin or Thick )

Hello,

We got some user want to migrate VM from VMware to Proxmox, but they have question about stroage.
Where can change the stroage type from thin Provisioning to Thick Provisioning if the storage type supprot thin(Example:LVM-Thin, Ceph, ZFS).
it seem there should not any option to select when we create the new Virutal machine in PVE. Thank you.

Hi all,
Newbie here...
setup a cluster with 4 nodes, 3 switches: 1 for management traffic (1gbit), 2 for production traffic (2x10g).
for now, because of the size of the cluster, the corosync network is on a vlan on the 2 production switches.

Unforeseen, the management switch rebooted today, causing all nodes to simultaneously reboot.
Which led to the question: why is this cluster rebooting. Corosync was up, the VMs were all running, shared storage was available.
