qm suspend ?? todisk 1 for all vm possible?

Hello, is it possible to suspend all VMs in a single command (like qm suspend * --todisk 1 could have done it for example)? If possible by respecting the shutdown/startup order as the bulk suspend function does.

Problems with GPU Passthrough since 8.2

Hi,

I have had a problem with GPU passthrough since updating to 8.2. The VM to which I have passed the GPU no longer starts and has the following error message:

Verify State error "old" in Yellow - what to do?

Hello!
I have PBS installed in a VM, it's been running great for a couple of months now. I pruned some old backups of vm/102 that were corrupt, and now when I look at my datastore, most of the groups have Verify State with a Yellow "All OK (old)" indicated. See screenshot below.

I have tried manually starting the Verify job, but it just runs and says "Success" but the column stays yellow.

How do I address this warning please? Is there a way to kick off a "full" re-verification, either...

VM locked in a node after upgrading to PVE 7.

hi everyone,
a very strange thing happened.
I got a cluster on 2 HPE DL830 with a fiber channel disk bay MSA family, originally in PVE 6
I carefully read about https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_6.x_to_7.0
I migrated all VM from node 1 to node 2
upgraded node 1 to pve 7, rebooted node1, waited that it come back in line and rejoined the cluster.
then moved all VM from node2 to node1, all went fine, upgraded node2 to PVE7.
Now I got a cluster in VPE 7, that seems to work well...

After reboot no webgui and pve-cluster.service fail

hello all,

I am really hoping someone can help me figure this out. I've tried reviewing the forums for pve-cluster.service failing and no webgui but nothing would work so I'm posting.

I'll try and post as much relevant info in this first post.

When the server reboots...before I get to the login I get this string of failed to starts.

e1000 driver hang

In the past week we are seeing random e1000e 0000:00:1f.6 eno1: Detected Hardware Unit Hang failuresacross all our nodes, even different hardware hosts. Must do a reset of the host.

There are lots of references to this issue going back 5+ years. Was there a driver change with the latest updates? We've run years with this hardware without issue. Now just this week its popping up all over.

pve node stops responding and requires reboot

Hi,
I have a 2 nodes Proxmox cluster and from time to time, one of them, always the same, stops responding until I reboot it. I cannot ping anymore the node. I don't have a screen nor keyboard to check when it's not responding but here are the logs of this node. I don't know if the "reboot" happened at 20:27, whet it stopped responding or at 21:28 when I forced the reboot.

Hi,

We're testing the new 8.3 version on our just upgraded test environment and we occur problems during the VM migrations.

An hardware machine is installed with Proxmox 8.3 up-to-date. Three VM are installed with 8.3 Proxmox too into a CEPH cluster for the shared storage. Three other VM are installed with 8.3 Proxmox too into a PVE cluster. This PVE cluster use the CEPH cluster for the RDB shared storage.

Update - 20 June 2024.

I managed to somewhat resolve this issue.

I booted my windows PC to Ubuntu and did iperf there. I got 10Gbs up and down. So I guess its an issue with Windows.

HP DL380 G8 HBA Controller zum ZFS booten

Hallo,
ich habe noch einen DL380 G8 und möchte den auf ZFS umstellen. Nun ist der mitgelieferte P420 für ZFS nicht geeignet. Daher suche ich einen HBA Controller von dem Proxmox auch booten kann.
Lt. suche soll der HP H240 zwar ZFS gut können aber das booten des Proxmox Grundsystems klappt wohl nicht. Hat da wer Erfahrung? Geht es doch? Oder lieber einen anderen Controller? Oder vom P420 booten und den Rest dann über den HBA Controller?

ZFS recommendation for 8x 22TB HDD + 2x 2TB NVMe SSD

At the moment, I have a server at Hetzner with 4x 16TB HDD (no SSDs) that I use as central offsite backup site for multiple local PBS.
I use ZFS with two mirror vdevs with 2 HDDs each, i.e. like a RAID10, with 2x 16TB effective storage space.

That worked quite well, but now the HHDs are rather full and I need to expand it.
Also, on my old server, some tasks like verify took a pretty long time (~20h for one of the datastores).

I want to switch to an SX135 with 128GB RAM, 8x 22TB...

HI all,

I was running into random crashes after updating proxmox to 8.2 on my 3 nodes cluster (running Elitedesk 800 G4).
I was planning to ask a question on the forum, but after struggling for more than 2 days on it I have managed to solve it (hopefully).

Trouble installing after boot from GRUB

I have an HP DL360 G6 server and have run the tests on it to make sure that it will be okay to use for 3.3. I have been able to get to the GRUB just fine, but if I click on the GUI interface then it doesn't work. I've accepted that I won't be able to use this. However, when I select the console option no input shows up and if I select that TUI option it will just show a black screen. Any help would be appreciated. If any other details are needed, please let me know

I am trying to get VLANs setup. I made another section for it the way I knew how with just auto eno4.10 and configured the IP under that one, but that didn't work. I tried looking for it in the documentation and I couldn't find it. Sorry if that is my fault, but I got really tired of looking for it. Any help, including just pointing me to where the documentation for VLANs is, is appreciated.

About Replication funcation between different PVE cluster

We are using PVE HA and we want to find any solution can replicate vm to another PVE cluster in another location. I tried to use PVE replication but it seem the replication is not allow to replicate the VM to another PVE cluster. We looking for some 3th party solution or offiical support in coming PVE version update.Thank you.

Sending magic packet (WOL) from proxmox hosted lxc container to outside physical computer

Hi there,

I am trying to send magic packet from either a LXC or QEMU machine hosted on proxmox to a physical machine on another lan, but it looks like the magic packet does not go farther than the proxmox host.
The target phy machine is on another lan
I sniffed packet using wireshark on my own computer and I do not see the m packet when it is sent from a proxmox hosted machine, when I send it from a physical machine I can see it, this led me thinking that lxc / qemu or even proxmox phy host...

Proxmox 8.2 with Unity XT380 snapshot problem

I have create the five node PVE cluster environment. And The storage is Unity Xt380. PVE node connect the Unity XT380 via FC.
The cluster storage type is LVM. I create the Unity XT380 snapshot function (pve-share-disk) and attach to host (PVE).
In the PVE shell, I can see the snapshot disk /dev/sdc and source disk is /dev/sdb. I run the vgimportclone --basevgname pve-share-disk-clone /dev/sdc
But the PVE node can't import to the system. How to import the snapshot vg group to PVE? The...

Hi,

I had some issues with file system errors some time ago (see messages here). Since there was no clear evidence I decided to exchange the RAM modules in that server to new ECC RAM modules four weeks ago. Since then the file system problems are gone, but I did have two occurences of the following error message (one on 27.12.24 and one last night):
