Hello,
I tried to recover a file from a backup (proxmox backup server). This worked about 2 week ago, but now the error message is:

The VM is Windows 11, restart of both server had no effect. Can anyone help me? Thank you

Hi,
I'm trying to restore some VMs to a Proxmox 8.3 new deployment. They were backed up using VBR 12.3 on a vSphere 8 hypervisor and restoring with the same version of VBR to PVE. I'm having some errors with the entire VM restores to PVE though. There's no pattern as such that I can fine, although larger VMs (~6TB) seems to be failing after 1:14 to 1:15 minutes give or take a minute. Support suggest it's something within Proxmox which it may well be, however I'm wondering if anyone else has...

Hello,
Is it possible to use a different location to store RAW files and snapshots files?
I mean, I have two SSD: 2To and 1To.
I would like to use the 2To to store all my VM's (LVM, raw files) and use my 1To only for snapshots files and backup files.
Is it possible as my 2To use RAW file format and my 1To use QCOW2 file format?

Hey,
I have a Proxmox lab with a few nodes, and I want to use the
Proxmox API , for tasks such as probing my VMs.
I use
/cluster/resources (with
type=vm), but since my lab is grow, I'm wondering if there any limitation, such as the number of objects in the response.
I know some other Private cloud are limited for 100,000 object at once and require pagination. However, I couldn't find any reference to such limitation in the user guide or wiki

Hi there,
I have an old snapshot on my system, which won't delete. It's not being used and he status says 'delete' but is appears stuck. If I try and delete it again in the GUI the delete fails, and the VM is locked.
I have to unlock the vm manually on the command line.
Could someone tell me how to manually delete the snapshot from the command line?

When I try and access the shell I get this error:
failed waiting for client: Cannot assign requested address (os error 99)
TASK ERROR: command '/usr/bin/termproxy 5900 --path /nodes/proxmox --perm Sys.Console -- /bin/login -f root' failed: exit code 1
I am able to refresh in Updates but get the same error when I try and Upgrade ProxMox. Cannot shut down system as well. No other apparent issues. Please advise, thanks.

What I'm missing are more advanced options when restoring backups:
1.) a way to set the target storage for each individual virtual disk
Right now you can only choose a single target storage and all virtual disks will be restored to that storage. But often my VMs got virtual disks on different storages. Lets for example say I got a HDD storage for cold data and a SSD storage for hot data and my VM got one virtual disk on each storage. Now when I restore such a VM I need to choose...

I would like to know if this is possible with proxmox. Let's say we have a server with 4x RTX 5000 cards and also local U.3 SSD storage. Would it be possible to create one vm template and create 64 vms (based on this template) and can you also create these vms with dynamically assign a vgpu on creation? Or do you need to do this with a separate commandline or API call or is that also possible with the proxmox GUI? Are there any performance issues when using vm templates or are there any...

Kind of hard to make a succinct title for what I'm trying to ask.
I have my PVE with vmbr0 and a static IPv4. I use this for management. None of my other vmbr*'s have any IPs at all (they are pure layer 2 for guests). I do have RAs coming in these VLANs as I have multiple segments here.
I see in the config, there doesn't seem to be a way to say auto/SLAAC. It seems like the GUI just wants a static address for IPv6.

here

5 Linux Container Runnning
Diskspace:
local = 100GB
local-lvm = 900GB
NFS-Storage =2 TB (Synology for Backups)
My Problem:
I got an backup from an actual running machine and want to set it up temporarily in a container to extract datas, then it can be delete.
I cant get the Backup running, allways get the Message "no space left on device"
The Backup File has 4GB and extracted around 32...

so we have PMG configured to sign all emails with DKIM, and have setup an SPF record and a DMARC record for our outgoing domain.
everything works nicely, except... spamreports generated by proxmox.
at least, spamreports directed at users that have setup a forward to an external domain.
afaict, the problem is as follows:

A few weeks ago I started migrating from ESXi to Proxmox. Since then I
have some network issues that I fail to explain. Any advice highly

My (reduced) network layout is like
PFSense ←> Zyxel GS1920 ←>

Proxmox
There is a ton of other units, but none that was touched during the migration test.
