I'm having a very weird issue when connecting to an Ubuntu VM inside Proxmox through RDP. Let me describe the different scenarios:
1. If I connect from a Windows PC (physical computer) to the Ubuntu VM inside Proxmox, I often get an encryption error and my Windows machine gets disconnected. A good way to replicate the issue fast is to stream video content while connected on a RDP session.

Hello there!
I really like the idea of having the full root-filesystem encrypted using native ZFS encryption (only).
However, as I currently couldn't find any complete writeup on on this topic, here's what worked for me (with and without Secureboot on PVE 8.1):
1. Install with zfs (RAID0 for single-disk application)
2. Reboot into ISO > Advanced Options > Graphical, debug mode
3. Exit to bash with `exit` or Ctrl+D

I'm having some errors in a Linux Ubuntu 22.04 VM with my little Proxmox lab, my HW is very low end:
I7 3th gen
16GB RAM
No NVidia/AMD GPU installed.

I'm trying to understand how to use an external IPAM and DNS integration, to assign IPs to VMs and have them registered in the DNS. I'm trying phpIPAM because Netbox looks to be a far larger and more complex solution. Uisng Proxmox 8.3.3.

I am updating a PVE installation that has an uptime of 283 days and is running on an HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus v2.
I have the Enteprise repositories, which is good, I guess.
Done multiple updates on other servers too but never ran into this issue.
About 100 updates to process and it errors out with below error; I chose Yes but I did not choose to reboot yet. What should I be aware of next? Or shold I try to install GRUB manually again?

Hello!
I downloaded and started using the Proxmox Mail Gateway 8.1 software.
In the Configuration/Certificates menu, ACME has 5 domains created and it won't let me add more, but I don't get any error messages. Is this a bug or a limitation of the free version?

Hello, I had proxmox VE working on a mini pc. Had it installed on one of the nvme disks. I had to make changes to whole home network and server setup so decided to go for a fresh new installation of Proxmox VE on the same device. installation was quick, however I get no display after reboot. I tried 3-4 times. I get the same outcome. I wonder what I must be doing wrong?
Any suggestions? what all can I debug?

Hello,
today I tried the new Datacenter Manager. It looks very good and seems to work.
I`ve tested migration. Basically it works great. I migrated the running Datacenter Manager VM to another Remote. No lag. Great!
But If i try to migrate some Containers with features like nfs or something else. I get this message.

ich werde aus der Proxmox Firewall nicht schlau.
Eine VM ist über ein vmbr1 angebunden (10.0.0.0/24)
ipv4 forewarding ist aktiv und die Maschiene ist online!
In den Einstellungen der VM; Hardware / Network ist die Firewall AUS, wird diese aktiviert, ist die VM offline.
Trotz ACCEPT IN / OUT an der VM, NODE und Datacenter bleibt die VM offline.
Daher doof gefragt, welche Firewall greift da?

Ich hatte ProxmoxVE 8.1-2 zum Testen auf einem Lenovo Server ST250 mit einem RAID-Controller 530-8i installiert - das ging problemlos. Dann habe ich ein Update laufen lassen (auf V. 8.3 via apt-get update && apt-get upgrade), das fehlerfrei durchlief. Nach dem Neustart konnte aber nicht mehr gebootet werden (es konnte wohl die Festplatte - also das RAID - nicht mehr gefunden werden). So far, I am able to pass through the GPU super easily to a Windows 11 VM, and have Intel driver software working for video just fine for high-end gaming.
However, I do not get the sound device showing up in Device manager - I am also passing it through to the VM too. So I have to use USB headset to get sound...
The Video and audio are in two different IOMMU groups... Any suggestions on what to do to resolve the sound issue?

I have 3 brand new to me Dell R640's, 2 of them installed fine the third we eventually got the OS to install on however overnight it kernel panic'd and we rebooted it and the OS wont boot all the way. We had to do nomodeset on install. This is with the latest 8.3.1 iso file. I have a ton of machines running proxmox but have never had this issue. The vendor who supplied the hardware swapped out the machine and this is a different machine with the exact same issues.

Quite a few changes with vGPU software on Kernel 6.8. The feature is called "Vendor-Specific VFIO Framework".
Note you will need 550.90.05 for this to work which you can download from nVIDIA. Things like mixed size vGPU (you can now have different memory allocations on the same GPU) and live migration on KVM are now a feature (haven't tested that feature yet, more to come).

I am trying to migrate some Windows 2019 (that use efi) from my old VMware cluster to a new Proxmox cluster. I Export the VM as an OVF, use the ovftool to convert it to an ova, import that into Proxmox, create an EFI disk, and boot. That's where it stops, it just sits at a shell prompt. ich verwende Proxmox schon eine ganze Weile auf meinem Homelab, will nun allerdings auf einen "richtigen" Server umsteigen und bräuchte bitte eure Meinung/Einschätzung oder gerne auch Empfehlung.
Auf dem Server sollen am Ende 2-3 Windows Server VMs laufen. Die Applikationen auf den VMs wird sich in Grenzen halten und nichts rechenintensiv sein. Ich suche also keinen High End Server, aber auch keine lahme Krücke.
