My proxmox keeps crashing randomly, and I am completely new to this, so dont even know how to begin to diagnose the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: The solution for me was to disable C-states in BIOS.

New to Proxmox, but not to virtualization. I installed a three node cluster last week, configured Ceph for shared storage, created some VMs and everything seems to work normally. I can migrate VMs from host to host no issue, I can put hosts into maintenance mode and VMs move automatically.

Hallo,
ich hätte da mal eine allgemeine Konzeptfrage, und würde dazu gerne wissen,
was denn die bessere Variante ist und warum.

Ich habe ein Software Raid (mdraid) und die Frage ist nun, wo ist es effizienter zu managen ?

Ich hätte jetzt gedacht auf dem Host und ich gebe das md Device dann als Disk an die VM.
Nachteil, ich kann in der VM keine Smart Daten lesen, Raid Status erkennen etc.
(Die VM wird ein OpenMediafault mit diesem Raid)

Oder eben die einzelnen Platten an die VM...

Using a cloud image to create a new VM using the command line is straightforward. I'm running into a problem using the API to do the same.

ich habe in meinem Proxmox diverse VM und Container installiert. Eine davon ist OMV. Wenn ich nun ein Backup (Snapshot) des Systems machen möchte, stürzt sowohl PVE als auch OMV ab. Das Backup soll auf einer USB Festplatte in einem über storage gemountestes Laufwerk erfolgen. Da das Laufwerk direkt an OMV durchgeleitet wird ist es scheinbar während des Backups nicht mehr erreichbar.

I feel like I've tried everything I can think of or find on the internet, but this issue just won't go away.

My setup:
- one node proxmox ve
- synology nas
- attempting to set up pbs as lxc (debian 11) on the ve, using an nfs on the nas as the datastore

I'm having issues backing up PVE to PBS, it's very slow and inconsistent write speed.
To backup a VM with 300Gib disk takes over an hour.


PVE - Lenovo P520
Xeon(R) W-2255 CPU
190 GiB DIMM DDR4 2666 MHz

Hello. I create and up 3 proxmox virtual machines with VMware Workstation Player. All done well. Then I start to connect them to clulster, and cluster was created. But local-lvm storage icon in 2th and 3th nodes become with question mark. I can't do anything with them on that nodes, they are like inactive or disabled. Before joining to cluster all was normal.
So, what does it mean ? how to fix it ?

I don't know why HA keeps messing up so much. I've tried this twice now. After i enable HA on all of the virtual machines i then get nodes randomly rebooting nonstop. I tried changing settings in HA and i just can't get this to stop. When i turn off HA all of my nodes are perfectly fine

Hello!

I downloaded and started using the Proxmox Mail Gateway 8.1 software.
In the Configuration/Certificates menu, ACME has 5 domains created and it won't let me add more, but I don't get any error messages. Is this a bug or a limitation of the free version?

I have 8 fresh PVE installs in the last 5 days trying different combinations.
I started by installing with Ventoy, setup up the whole environment, reboot. and voila stuck loading ram disk, rebooted 9 times forcefully, it booted up. Rebooted and back at it again.
Tried to fresh install 3 more times the same scenario happens - with or without configuration.

Then looked around and saw that ventoy was a "Known" problem (even though there were no weird lines in my grub)...

Hello, I have proxmox running on a dedicated server. The main proxmox ip is a public non vlan ending in 65. I have 2 other public addresses that are vlan tagged at 1000. I created a linux vlan eth0.1000 and then created a linux bridge vmbr1 turned on vlan tagging and pointed bridged port to eth0.1000.
