Team,

Since a few days there are some changes in the behavior of the Proxmox server in my home-lab.
On boot, there is a high IO delay (10-15%) for up to 30 minutes (versus far less then 1% before).
In addition, the monitoring tool is reporting a "temp1" raise going from 55-60-C to 70-plus-C - probably the VRM's. But I can not find any conclusive answers here.

Does this ring any bells?
Any suggestions where to start analyzing this change?

Has anyone installed installed Proxmox on a Stratus ztC server? VMWare and HyperV are listed as being supported but no mention of Proxmox.

We have a 2 node cluster running for 3 years now, currently with Local Storage only. (SSD + HDD with ZFS RAID1 + RAID10).
This is a very stable production environment! There were no issues at all... we started with version 6, all updates went through smoothly until version 8.
No crashes or any problems at all.
We currently use ZFS Replication for the most important VMs on a separate 10 GBIt network
But now I would like to add Shared Storage! But I really can not find a decision, which way to...

Hi all ,
I would like to enable GuC (graphics micro controller) firmware and HuC (HEVC micro controller) firmware on a minipc running proxmox 8.3.2.
This is the reason why
I've added in the apt source.list file the part nonfree, but the problem is that if I try

I have 3 nodes in my home lab. All running on Intel Nucs. Been running ok for over a year.
One of the nodes crashed and the problem started on that node after I restored it from backup.

Everything seems to work fine. Running ceph with not problem.

However vms crash shortly after I start them on that node. I believe it's because of the kernel version.
When I boot the server I don't get a boot menu. It just boots. I'm not able to change the kernel version.

Servus.
Ich hab eine Frage ob jemand das kennt:
Auf dem proxmox ist openmediavault als VM Installer. Externe Festplatte ist durch gereicht. SMB Freigabe erstellt inkl Ordner für Time Maschine Backup. Backup vom ganzen system ging auch am Tag1.
Nur
Tag 2: keinerlei Änderungen gemacht und plötzlich hab ich mir noch lesezugriff mittels der Freigaben obwohl ich nichts geändert habe..kennt jemand das Problem und hat eine Lösung? Danke

wir setzen in unserer Umgebung Proxmox als Hypervisor und Veeam als Backup-Software ein.
Aktuell haben wir derzeit ein Problem, bei dem der Veeam Worker nicht korrekt funktioniert. (beim Starten bzw. Initialisieren)
Backupjobs werden gestartet, allerdings wird der Veeamworker nicht erreicht oder ist noch in einem vorherigen Prozess. (Fehlermeldungen in den Anhängen als Bilder)

Hallo zusammen,

als Schutz für Crypto-Trojaner oder ähnlichen würde ich gerne regelmäßige Backups vom ProxmoxBackup auf externen USB-Platten sichern.
Ich habe bereits versucht die Festplatten über einen Sync-Job zu synchronisieren. Nur kann ich in diesen Fall nie die Platten abschließen sonst kommt es beim nächsten Reboot zu Fehlern.

Wie macht ihr das so?

Hallo,

weiß jemand ob man das Garbage Collection auf mehr CPU Kerne verteilen kann? Während des GC läuft immer 1 Kern auf 100% und der Rest der Kerne bummelt nur rum.
Die Disks sind auch nur 5-7% Busy, also könnte da noch etwas gehen.

I installed a freshly downloaded version of proxmox VE 8.3-1 and tried to run the post install script
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://github.com/tteck/Proxmox/raw/main/misc/post-pve-install.sh)" from https://tteck.github.io/Proxmox/#proxmox-ve-post-install
unfortunately, it failed and I got the message.
"✗ This version of Proxmox Virtual Environment is not supported
Requires Proxmox Virtual Environment Version 8.0 or later."

Hallo zusammen,

ich möchte gerne die 8 Performance Cores vom 13900k einer VM fest zuweisen.
Ich würde das ganze mit taskset umsetzen. (https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/cpu-pinning.67805/)

Das Problem was ich jetzt habe, woher weiß ich welche der Kerne die Performance Cores sind?
Soweit ich weiß sind die Fest und Wechseln demnach nicht. Ich habe dazu leider nichts finden können.

Vielleicht hat ja einer die Info die ich brauche

Hello,

I get a grub error when trying to install ProxMox VE 8.3 on my new Hardware:

• Supermicro H13SAE-MF
• Ryzen 9 7950X
• 2 x 48GB Kingston Server Premier DDR5
• 2 x NVMe M.2 SSD

This is the first time I bought a "Server" Mainboard and maybe it's rather here the problem than the ProxMox installation

I googled already around but could not find a solution.

Ich habe auf dem Proxmox-Server mit dem Script von tteck paperless-ngx installiert, ich komme problemlos auf das Dashboard von paperless-ngx. Von meinem Lexmark-MFG XC2326 kann ich auf Freigaben im Netzwerk scannen, ebenso problemlos. Nur muss ich die auf die Freigaben in den LAN-Clients gescannten Dokumente händisch nach paperless-ngx kopieren, was nicht optimal ist.

I am building a new HA (HomeAssistant instance as a VM under Proxmox). The new VM box has the very same WiFi/BT card that the existing ThinClient is using. A PCIe card and I am getting WiFi in BOTH systems - but the new VM does not see the Bluetooth. Again, they are both on the same card. Proxmox is setup and is passing the PCIe into the HA (x86_64) installation. WiFi is working and I am able to connect to my AP and get an IP From both systems.

I mounted a directory from Proxmox on multiple LXC containers. This might not be the proper way to share common storage, but it’s the only method I managed to get working.

The issue is that the 100 GiB allocated to the local storage is now almost full, and I can’t figure out how to add more space, despite having over 1.5 TiB free on my SSD.

first of I know thats there a lot a security risk's and 2nd I am just playing around with Proxmox VM'S so this is something that I would just like to play around with. So would Ubuntu be best or something else? as i could not find any info after a day of searching not sure about any of it the game I would like to try would be Subsistence. BTW I am a total noob at this.

Anyone else seeing this amount of wear on ssd's?

I have been running this node for about 2 years, with the drives that are in it. I was watching to see if they would withstand being used this way, because they are desktop drives, so I expected limits, but something has changed. Any way about a year ago we noted the disk health and they were not showing anything. I had not looked at it again until yesterday and the boot drive is now at 37% wearout and the other three drives were at 7%...
