corosync-qdevice running on a router?

Hey!

Ive been pondering how to run the 3th voting machine in my house to get a 3node cluster. I have a CoreElec Odroid n2+ box as mediacenter, but also 4 routers, 3 of which are dumb APs and a main router.

The main router is a beefy machine, pretty much idling all day. A Linksys 3200ACM running OpenWrt. without buying a raspberry pi zero of sorts, im looking into running the 3th vote on this main machine.

Im stuck, because it seems i need to compile it, which i dont have the knowhow for...

Adding sata-PciEx1 expansion card disables host's integrated network adapter

First of all:
- I'm not native english speaker, so sorry if something's off;
- I'm new to proxmox, but i'm learning.

Here's what happened: I installed proxmox, played with it, made several VM's and one VM with GPU passthrough. Till this moment everything is fine (and what was not fine, was fixed). Recently I bought Pci-Ex1 to Sata adapter to expand my HHD number beyond standard 6 (chinese noname). I connected adapter to motherboard's slot pci4 (number from motherboard's user manual) and...

Fresh proxmox installation - disk not working.

I am new to proxmox and this is the second machine I have installed it on.

I have a fresh install but proxmox says there is only 95.95 GiB of disk space in the summary tab.
In the disks tab, there are three partitions. A bios boot one that is 1.03 MB, an EFI partition that is 1.07 GB, and an LVM partition that is 511.04 GB.
In the local-btrfs tab, it says " '/var/lib/pve/local-btrfs' is not a btrfs file system (500) ".
When I try to create a VM, it says this under the Disks section...

Unable to move LXC to or from one host in the cluster

Running into an issue in my cluster where I'm not able to move LXC's to and from one of the hosts.

Running a 3 host cluster on 8.2.5, with shared ceph storage.

When I initiate an LXC migration it starts the vzmigrate task then nothing else happens, no LXC shutdown nothing.
LXC migrations between the other two nodes are working fine

This just started happening, after a memory upgrade of the affected host, so maybe that's related but I'm hoping to be able to move the LXC's off the host...

PVE 8.3 node with btrfs booting into grub command line after hard reset

Hi,

for my home lab, I wanted to give btrfs a try and since PVE supports btrfs+RAID on root, I decided to give it a try and added a PVE 8.3 node with exactly that into my little 2 node home lab. Things went smoothly so far, but after a recent hard reboot, the node doesn't boot anymore, but throws me into a grub command line instead.

In there, I can successfully access my EFI partition, but I can't access the root partition, grub isn't able to mount it yet at that stage:

Traffic leaking through Linux Bridge

$

Hello everyone. I have the following problem. The network part in the cluster works on Linux Bridge using VLAN. The problem is that one virtual machine receives traffic that is not intended for it. It feels like the Bridge works like a regular network hub, not a network switch, and sends all traffic to all network participants. If my theory is correct, then what could be the cause of this and how can I get rid of it? I would not really like to switch to Openvswitch since everything already...

New cluster network question

In the process of setting up a new cluster and I have a few options it seems to configure the networks. The servers for these have a total of 4 NIC interfaces, 2 of them are 10Gb SFP+ bonded in LACP mode, being the link for vmbr1 where I then tag the vlan on the VM interface when connected to vmbr1. The 2 onboard intel NIC's are setup as untagged to ports on the switch, on separate vlans, 99 being management traffic, and 45 for the cluster traffic,

Layout as currently:

3CX VM is randomly stopping passing network traffic

I have a 3CX VM that seems to be dropping its network connection at random times, in most cases less than 24 hours. Not sure where I can find anything to tell me when it fails. When it happens, I can't reach from the outside and it can not ping out. With a comment the network is unreachable. As soon as I reboot it works again. Currently the instance has vmbr0 and vmbr202 which is a trunked network port with multiple vlans. I have vmbr202 listed twice with a public vlan with an outside IP and...

Proxmox Mystery Random Reboots

I've had a Proxmox install running rock solid for months and all of a sudden it's randomly rebooting. It can run for 5 minutes or 5 hours. The weird thing is, I've basically u
sed up all of the collective posts on the subject and still can't track it down. I'm now at the point where I really just want to know what the cause is for my own sanity. haha

I can't find anything in syslog. I literally watched it reboot and it just goes right from nothing to --REBOOT--.

Although it seems random...

Access via cloudflare not working

I have a Cloudflare tunnel set up on one of my proxmox VM-s. It works fine with everything except proxmox. I have proxmox.mydomain.net set to my proxmox servers ip (let's say it's 192.168.0.2:8006), over HTTPS, no TLS verify set to true, TLS timeout set to 20 sec, disable chunk encoding set to true.

I can log in, it does reject bad passwords. I type in the right pass, the right 2FA code, and it logs in, but doesn't show my stuff (nodes, VM-s, etc). All there is is a datacenter named ASD...

Creating RAIDZ2 with different hard drive sizes

$

Hello Proxmox Community,

I am new to everything: new to the forum, new to Proxmox, and new to Linux.

For my IT startup, I’ve decided to build my entire IT infrastructure on my server using Proxmox.

Currently, I’m facing what is probably a simple issue: I want to set up a RAIDZ2 cold storage pool, but it consists of different HDD sizes (3x10 TB + 3x12 TB). However, Proxmox gives me an error, stating that it cannot create the RAIDZ2 because the drives have different sizes.

ceph-osd OOM

I have a 3-node PVE 7.4-18 cluster running Ceph 15.2.17. There is one OSD per node, so pretty simple. I'm using 3 replicas, so the data should basically be mirrored across all OSDs in the cluster.

Everything has been running fine for months, but I've suddenly lost the ability to get my OSDs up and running.

The ceph-osd on each node keeps crashing on startup, and it looks like it's being killed by the Linux OOM killer:

Webui unreachable after adding nvme drive

I just went through this issue and thought I should share. This seems more like a motherboard issue than a proxmox/networking one but I'm pretty inexperienced w/ linux.

TL/DR: adding second nvme drive to server caused the network interface names to change by +1 each making the webui unreachable - fix by changing the names in /etc/network/interfaces and restarting the network service.

Bug:
I have 2 nvme drives that were purchased at different times. One already in operation w/ the system...

Block Sending Mail via IPV6

We've encountered an issue where google has blocked the entire /32 of the IPv6 range at our VPS where PMG lives. We've reached out to them, and they've said it isn't their issue. IPV6 was previously working correctly for sending and receiving mail.

I can disable IPV6 with:
Code:
sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1
sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6=1

but this disables receiving mail via IPv6 as well which is causing some mail delivery delays since most mail servers are...

Inter-version Updates for Non Subscription?

Hi All,

All our production boxes are subscription devices - we pay :)

I a pre-production / test box - is there any way of getting these up to the latest major release without a rebuild?
I understand there needs to be a level of subscription only service however I thought it worth checking. As this is based on opensource..

Thank you!

Display output is not active

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to install a Win 11 VM in Proxmox VE 8.3.2. As soon as I select Bios: OVMF (UEFI) I get an error when I start the VM: Display output is not active.

I tried all different kind of settings for CPU and Display but I can't get it running. When I select SeaBIOS the VM starts and the Windows installation process begins. However, it stops when it checks the system requirements and fails (probably because of the SeaBIOS).

This is the conf:

Code:
