I added two domains of ldap, one openldap and one microsoft AD, and the synchronization was successful. My question is, when the email user logs in, how to distinguish between two different domains? I tried to use user@example.com or example\user, but both methods did not work. Moreover, I found that there seems to be no association between RelayDomains and ldap.

proxmox 8 - vzdump backup schedule is set and 2 vzdump instances run
proxmox 8 - 5 nodes in clusters - only 1 node has this issue - node 5
on node 5 - vzdump backup schedule is set for guest qemu vm
issue -> but 2 vzdump instances run even though there is only 1 schedule
both vzudmp process have different process id and task
this causes guest qemu vm to freeze
have to cancel the other one to fix the guest qemu vm
any ideas?

ZFS Dedup not working on backups

We have 2 Proxmox host and we use the included vzdump tool to backup the VMs and containers that run on them. Our backup location is a ZFS server shared over NFS to both Proxmox hosts. This ZFS server has a RAID-10 like configuration with 4 disks, 40GB SSD cache partition, 20GB RAM and around 7.5TB of usable disk space. The backups are configured to use lzo compression, and we have compression disabled on the ZFS server.
Now, the issue we are facing and really cant see why is that...

Deleting snapshots from qcow2
I'm currently writing a script I can invoke from the command line to delete old snapshots in a qcow2 file. I often have more than 10 old snapshots.
If I have an arbitrary qcow2 for a VM with arbitrary snapshots going back some months, is there a difference between deleting snapshots from oldest to newest vs newest to oldest?
My intention is to keep the most recent two snapshots, but discard all others except those that don't have the word "PROTECTED" in the description for the snapshot...

Proxmox an network connections
i have a new proxmox install. i have setup several vm's which all get internet access. I can connect to the proxmox web interface but from the shell(for proxmox) I have no internet., using a wired connection.I tried to apt install -y wireless tools.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cluster Balancing Load
Hi,
coming from HyperV and SCVMM.... is there some logic inside Proxmox which allows for "balancing" VMs on Host-CPU or Disk I/O Workload?
Is something like this planned?
Reason: If whole cluster is online it would be nice if Guests are balanced so that CPU-Load is distributed for optimal performance of all guest.

NFS oder Smb als Storage
Hallo,
möchte meinen openmediavault server als backup verwenden. Leider muss beim openmediavault gefühlt alle paar Tage ein Neustart durchgeführt werden,da es für den Kernel ein update gibt(verwende den proxmox pve 6.8.8-3.)
Nun verliert proxmox jedesmal bei einem Neustart von openmediavault die Verbindung von nfs oder smb.
Hab hier bereits einen Thread gefunden, leider ist der schon ein paar Jahre alt.
Gibt es hierfür eine einfache Lösung um die Verbindung automatisch zu erneuern?

Hello, im struggling to determine why my device that runs proxmox started to suddenly reboot at random times.
SYS logs have no explanation that would lead me on to something. Where else can i look? What else can i do?
I started to notice that yesterday, who knows when it really started to happen.

Can't edit any options (guests, pve etc)
New 8.2.4 install.
I can't edit any options in the web interface. For example, I forgot to turn on "start at boot" for one of the guests but I can't edit it.
All edit buttons etc are greyed out.
I think my user isn't privileged, but I am using the unconstrained root@pam user?!
Any ideas?

Statistics (summary) is lost for the node and VMs
Hello! I've got a PVE node in my home network. It's connected to the router for internet access (router gets internet via cable from one of the internet providers).
PVE node works fine, everything is ok. But sometimes and this happens only when internet connection is lost due to zero balance on internet provider account — the statistics (cpu usage, memory, networking) is lost (there is a gap) for entire node and all the VMs (please see the attached file).

My 1TB nvme is installed into an nvme pcie adapter (these can be bought for like $10)
First you simply install proxmox to the NVME, this is straight forward just like installing to a hard drive, the problem comes in to play when you try booting from the NVME, older bios do not support that, even some that are uefi do not support booting from nvme drives.

Since I upgraded my Proxmox 8.2 to kernel 6.8.12-1-pve I have an issue with networking, the service won't start automaticaly at boot.
If I start the networking.service manually (systemctl start networking.service) everything is fine.
For me the network interface names didn't change after the upgrade to 8.2, indeed if I do an

Proxmox clustering issues

I hope you are doing well. I am testing it out Proxmox and I have the following scenario connecting at home:

I have followed the instructions as this documentation, explains: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager
but when I create a cluster and join the cluster to the second node, it seems during the process node 2 loses connection in the GUI, but SSH is communicating with each other successfully... Is there can anyone who could guide me what issue could be?
