iscsi not coming up properly after host reboot
We have hosts with multiple iSCSI datastores. After updating and rebooting a host, the host status shows a green check, but the iSCSI datastores display a grey question mark.
Running `systemctl restart pvestatd` resolves the issue and the iSCSI datastores become available again.
Before creating a cron job to automatically restart `pvestatd`, I would like to explore if there is another solution to this problem.

Proxmox Virtual Environment 8.2.2 - LXC High Availibilty after upgrade PVE v7 to v8
Dear members of Proxmox forum
I have a question about HA issues of LXC's happening after the upgrade of Proxmox VE from version 7.4-18 to 8.2.2.
We have multiple Debian 12 LXC's running on our PVE clusters, One PVE cluster as a development environment and one as a production environment.
I executed the upgrade in our development environment to upgrade from version 7.4-18 to 8.2.2.
All hosts in the 2 separate clusters are using Ceph v17.2.7 (before and after the upgrade)

Looking for a mini PC for Proxmox Backup Server
I run Proxmox on a DeskMini H470 and want to run Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) on a separate piece of hardware. I know I can run it in a VM or on the Proxmox host, but I'd prefer a separate machine.
Is anyone running PBS on a mini PC? I have gigabit networking, and the total disk of all my VMs/LXCs is about 200GB. I would like to throw 2TB SSD into one of these and be done. Thoughts?

Proxmox shuts down
Hello Proxmox,
My Proxmox server suddenly goes offline with all its vm's... This is really unwanted because it causes all my services to go DOWN.
Where can I check for the logs regarding the abrupt end of its reachability?

Proxmox freeze nach kernel update to 6.8.4-2-pve
Hallo zusammen

VDI Options | Post VMware Roadmap / Decisions
I am looking to understand the roadmap as well as options in our current VE setting (8.1.3).
There are limited resources in PVE for VDI and they all seem stale....Deskpool seemed to have the client based upon on a good path, but I think the development has stopped.
VMWare has unknown future issues with organizations that will likely sour over time with the recent buy out.
**Most organizations of size leverage VDI Pools with Desktop (golden) images.
So my question is what is the best VDI...

Is there a defacto tutorial on enabling SR-IOV and VFs? I have a 4 port Intel I350 card that is enabled for SR-IOV but I am nor sure the actual configuration needed to support it. Read alot if different posts but nothing is complete.
Thanks,
Steve

Copying VM-Data via OVFTool
Hi, i have still a lot to learn about ProxMox and Linux. Here is my question.
I have successfully migrated a handful of VM's from VMWare to ProxMox now. I always followed Guide's online.
On the ProxMox Server i used to go into /root/vmware and executed: "/usr/bin/ovftool vi://{VMWARE-IP}/{VM-Name} ." After installing the OVFTool of course.
I now have the Problem, that this copy's the VM Data into my "local" partition on the ProxMox Server, which is too small for the VM in question. I have...

Data corruption in Windows Server VM
Hello,
I ran into a strange data corruption issue which I need help with. The VM in question is Windows Server 2016 Standard, used primarily as a file server.
On this VM, I found files which could not be read or copied anymore, not even on the VM itself. I only get "the file is unreadable or damaged" - something I would expect from a defect physical disk. Since these files were downloaded, I downloaded them again and replaced the defective ones. That worked for this day, a few days later I...

Slow read from WinServer
Hi all,
I have a problem with the speed of reading data from Windows Server 2022 which is installed in Proxmox. I have done the VM setup step by step using the Wiki.
If I share a folder from the server, writing to it from another PC is no problem (about 100 MBps). But if I want to copy something from the folder to the PC, reading is terribly slow. Where could be the problem?
There is only a clean install on the server so far, without any other services.
