Hi guys! I'am a quite newer and I don't know where so I decided to write here.

I have a problem with my Proxmox proxmox-ve-3.10.0 4.0-31
all The Proxmox Virtual Environment

proxmox-ve-3.10.0 4.0-31

I installed it on the Debian jessie. When I created the cluster (3 nodes)

And I want to have HA on it. But I have a problem with HA

When I click on HA in the web I have an error

unknown file cluster.conf at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/Cluster.pm line 906 (500)

I dont know what to do - because it's difficult to find any related information

to the error. I see that there is no cman any more So how to make cluster works?

When migration a disk from one local raid storage area to another local raid:

Strange problem with xrdp on KVM VM centos 6.5

I created a KVM Virtual machine on proxmox ve for centos 6.5 desktop at my work.
The I installed xrdp from this link http://ajmatson.net/wordpress/2014/0...to-centos-6-5/
Everything works great. When I tried the same KVM image at home, I get connection error problem.
Even the vncserver service would not start on the centos KVM Virtual Machine. It says no display configured.
So, I tried to setup the display for vncserver for the centos6.5 KVM Image on the Node at my home. The Display was configured ok. The vncserver service also started. But I got connection error when I try to RDP in to centos VM.
So, I decided to bring home the whole proxmox server (Node) which had the working KVM Virtual machine of centos with xrdp.
When I fired up the vm and tried to get in through RDP in to the same centos KVM image, I get the same problem of connection error.
So I am very confused.
How can the same centos 6.5 image works fine at my work and the same node with the image when got home the vncserver does not start.
Does it have anything to do with my router at home? (Cant be because it is on a LAN)
I am using U-verse (ISP) for my home and I have ASUS RT-N100 router.
Can anyone guide me why is this happening.

problem readd iscsi (lvm) storage

Hello Guys


I`ve accidently deleted my iscsi connection and of course the created lvm on it
but not on the storage. soo i can reconnect that lun and on proxmox concole.
and of course i cant start the vm couse the storage does not exists
i can do a vgscan and activate my vg and i also see my volumes
but how can i readd that volume with the same name?



i am afraid that wenn i recreate that lvm the old one is destroyed.
and sadly it does not suggest my old lvm.

so i figured out that file /etc/pve/storage.cfg where all the storages are listed

lvm: stresslvm
vgname stressBasevolume
base Stress:0.0.0.scsi-330000000dd68e4c7


but how can i find out that id -> Stress:0.0.0.scsi-330000000dd68e4c7

Increase KVM resources? Out of resources when opening file

Hi all,

After every reboot on a KVM machine mysql doesn't work and need to repair manually the DBs to make it work again.
Today after another reboot it doesn't. I'm getting:

ERROR 1016 (HY000) at line 1: Can't open file: .... wherever I'm starting/restarting the db and also:

MySQL said:
#23 - Out of resources when opening file '/tmp/#sql_cf2_0.MYI' (Errcode: 24)

and

mysqlcheck: Error: Couldn't execute 'SHOW DATABASES': Out of resources when opening file '/tmp/#sql_cf2_0.MYI' (Errcode: 24)

From what I read it seems that need to increase the open files or so on the system but I did and still the same.

Any help is much appreciated.

api changes mac address unessescarily

changing the bridge of an interface, or even setting the interface with an equal setting, seems to create a new one. it changes the mac address unless you explicitly set that to be the same.

heres an example of the same setting, in this case, the bridge is lost too.

Hi all,

I just want to hear how others handles the problem with ntp and online migration in relation to monitoring like nagios, icinga etc.
Every time an online migration is occurring ntp looses sync with the remote ntp-server and will stay out of sync for some time so I wonder if there is some magic try to prevent this problem?

Hi,

Been using SolusVM and wanted to switch to Promox since it's free, opensource. I do have a few questions.

1. Is there an option to add bulk IPs (like a /24) in one shot to a particular openvz or kvm vm?
2. Can I easily migrate the VM's from SolusVM to Proxmox without a hitch? Please explain how this would be done
3. Does it support Centos 7 for the host NODE o/s?
4. Where can I find free templates for both openvz and kvm, aside this link http://download.openvz.org/template/precreated/

I would especially need Windows 2008 / 2012 templates for KVM as well.

Multiple disk restore

I have a system running the following
PVE Manager 3.4-1/3f2d890e
Kernal Linux 2.6.32-37-pve
Proxmox installed on "Local" 2TB Drive shows as 1.65TB
Used 90.87GB, Avail 1.56TB
Installed is Windows Server 2012R2
With C and D drive. Drive D is small partition to hold installation files.
Added an other Physical Drive 2TB, showing as 1.79TB Disk image.
I have added this under Windows as Drive E, for Data.
I backup to a 4TB Drive,
The backup shows as 535GB,which includes Operating System, Setup files and Data.
Question.
Is it possible to just restore the OS and Setup?
Or
How do I setup the restore?
Does it need 2 Disks again?

Backup of larger VM, second sync takes too long time

Hello,i have one VM which vzdump-X.tgz file is around 100GB large, when creating dump file using "vzdump", the second sync (while VPS is suspended (i use --live mode)) takes more than 20 minutes which is becoming not acceptable.VM do not contains large files, but rather more small files.Im having 7000rpm HDD, CentOS release 6.6 (Final), openvz kernel: 2.6.32-042stab093.5please can You share ideas on how to backup that VM while minimizing its downtime signifficantly? (im noob)Thank you

Dual nic

Hello,

I have a small HP Proliant server with 2 nic's and I would like to use both for traffic. My original /etc/network/interfaces had this, only one NIC enabled;

Ive added the following lines to add the second NIC but im not sure if this is the correct way. Am I suppose to bridge both together?

New ZFS 3.4 install booting to grub rescue prompt

Hello all i am trying to get proxmox 3.4 installed using ZRAID-1 on my supermicro x10sl7-f with onboard sli 2309 disk controller flashed to IT mode for use with zfs. The install seems to go well, but reboot always dumps me to

error: couldn't find a necessary member device of multi-device filesystem
entering rescue mode...
grub rescue>

If i do "ls" i get the below list which i think is my three drives or is it only one?

(hd0) (hd0,gpt3) (hd0,gpt2) (hd0,gpt1)

NOTE I have done a normal ext3 install and it boots up fine, a gets me to the proxmox login screen

I have tried a grub repair a couple of following this post

all commands seems to run without error but does system still boots to grub rescue>

Hello! I want to get a running Zentyal 4.1 installation, that is based on Ubuntu 14.04, in OpenVZ. My understanding is that I cannot simply install Zentyal 4.1 from ISO in OpenVZ. Therefore I consider to migrate an installation in a Virtual Machine with KVM to OpenVZ. Question: Is it "that simple" to create an OpenVZ appliance using DAB) as indicated in this thread? Does this meant I should install DAB and all its dependencies in the KVM installation and create the appliance using DAB in there? Or is it rather advisable to do a Physical to container as documented here? THX

Silently dropped JFS support on kernel 2.6.32-37-pve?

Upgraded the PVE from kernel version 2.6.32-34-pve to 2.6.32-37-pve, found out that there is only 1 filesystem support dropped, which is JFS.

Just want to know:
  1. Is it the decision of Proxmox?
  2. Why does Proxmox drop the JFS support?
  3. Why is it not mentioned in the changelog.Debian.gz?

Proxmox Node Failure

hi,

Im using proxmox with Ceph. I have a 3x3 setup , 3 proxmox nodes and 3 ceph-proxmox nodes.

Lets say I installed a VM on the 1st Proxmox node and that node failed. How do I recover my VM and be able to use it again ?:confused::confused:
