Hallo liebes Forum,

ich habe schon sehr viel gelernt über Proxmox etc und habe mich durch Google geforstet und bin immer fündig geworden. Nur jetzt habe ich ein kleines Brett vor dem Kopf. Ich habe in einem LXC Debian Container Zoneminder laufen. Nun möchte ich ein Laufwerk, welches bereits in Proxmox eingebunden ist, in Zoneminder intrigieren.
Nun habe ich einen Mountpunkt hinzugefügt. Jetzt Versuche ich schon seit einiger Zeit den korrekten Pfad in Zoneminder einzufügen. Muss ich dafür...

Some of the VM's backup failed in proxmox and rest other are working fine.
Using Bacula for backup even the error says: No space left on device, which is actually not a case.

Huge size of LXC backup using Proxmox Backup

Mullvad VPN Daemon issues

Operating system: Host: Proxmox 7, Debian 11 | Containers: Debian 10, 11; Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04

App version: 2021.01-04

I can't get the daemon to start, and I've already emailed the support team. Their response was to use wireguard/openvpn but each have their problems (wireguard blocks LAN, openvpn resets tracker connection daily) and I'm still relatively new to linux. The CLI app was working with zero issues before upgrading to proxmox 7

Ceph replacing drive - no notification of data loss?

I'm replacing HDD's in cluster with a higher capacity drives. Some not that important video data is on a size 2 min 1 CephFS pool (yes, I know, that can lead to data loss).

The process that I was doing was:
1. set global flag noout
2. stop and out an OSD then destroy it (from GUI)
3. pull out disk and insert a new one
4. create osd
5. unset global flag noout
6. wait for recovery
7. go back to step 1 for next drive.

This was going slow so I did a bit of googling on how to speed this up and...

Proxmox Crashes/Freezes when installing a VM OS or VM Downloads any Data

CPU: 10700k

RAM: 128 GB

1 480 GB SSD boot drive

x8 10TB Seagate NAS Drive

LSI 9207 HBA

750 Watt PSU

When my VMs are idle the server is stable, however when I make a VM and it downloads or uploads data (installing windows or uploading data to nextcloud for example) shortly the whole server crashes. There are is no error output to the screen before crashing. Wondering what it could be causing this if it isn't hardware related, my guess it is, but what part?

Hi all, I’ve only just recently discovered proxmox & was wondering, I have a backup of my raspberry pi images (like CrowPi2, TwisterOS etc) can I start those .img files as a VM with proxmox? If so, is there a process I need to follow. I’ll be running proxmox on x86-64 hardware.

Some backups are not saved in the namespace

Hi,

I just tried to store the backups in a namespace.
Most VMs and CTs are now stored inside the namespace, but some machines are stored in root.
They are all in the same backup job.

All other machines are inside of the namespace.

All of the wrong stored backups are located on 1 PVE server of the cluster.

How is this possible?

Or better: where is the bug und how to solve it?

Hardware Setup für einen Proxmox server.

Hallo,
Ich will gern folgende Services auf einem Poxmoxserver laufen lassen:
1x Windows mit Finanzzeug als VM
1x Windows mit Datenbankzeug als VM
1x Restic system für backups
1x Apache Guacamole Server für remote access
1x Windows mit Lizenzserver (Für CAD Software)

Dafür will ich einen x300 verwenden. Denkt ihr das klappt alles? Auch das durchreichen einer Grafikkarte an eine VM wäre wünschenswert.

My First VM - No Network

Hello,

Totally new to Proxmox, so am in a steep learning curve. Managed to work out how to import an existing Ubuntu 20.04 Linux VM into Proxmox via OVF import, and was excited to get it to boot. All seems ok, except I cannot get the network interface to come up? Here's what I see when I issue the command 'ip a'

You'll notice it has the state as DOWN... and I've tried a number of ways to get it to be UP. I tried to find /etc/network/interfaces but the directory doesn't exist...

Broadcom 10G NIC does not work with VLANs

Hi
So I finally got myself a 10G SFP+ switch and wanted to connect my Proxmox host to it.
The host is an HP DL360p Gen8. The server is equipped with a 2-port HP 530FLR-SFP+ FlexLOM NIC, which is basically an HP-branded Broadcom/QLogic controller.
When connected without being VLAN aware, it runs fine. But as soon as I make any of the two ports available with a VLAN-aware configuration, I get the attached traceback

proxmox 7.2 and opnsense nat on 8006

Hello,
I have a proxmox installation with a vm inside that acts as a firewall. OPNSESE.
The traffic arriving from outside comes nat from vm-opnsense over the entire network.
For all the vm inside the hypervisor I have no problem, I can correctly nat any port.

If from the LAN I try to reach the proxmox hypervisor via ssh or web 8006, I can easily.
I can't get the 8006 from outside. I think I'm missing something about the proxmox network theory.

Hallo,

ich kann bei einer VM kein Backup mehr machen. Folgender Fehler kommt immer:

ERROR: Backup of VM 102 failed - lvcreate snapshot 'pve/snap_vm-102-disk-1_vzdump' error: Logical Volume "snap_vm-102-disk-1_vzdump" already exists in volume group "pve"

Was kann ich tun oder wie kann ich die Datei löschen?

We have upgrade more than 20 servers to Proxmox 3.3.x and noVNC runing very well but ... the Copy Paste icon appear shortly then disappear, copy paste not working as well. Any thought?

HOW TO BACKUP PROXMOX CONFIGURATION FILES.

Hi everyone! I had a series of doubts regarding PVE, I wanted to make a script in order to backup the Proxmox configuration files, on the Proxmox Wiki, they explain that it is recommended to backup the /etc/pve /etc/network/interfaces /etc/passwd and /etc/resolv.conf.

My question is, if I physically backup these directories, do I have enough to restore the PVE config prior to a supposed "critical failure" of the system, is it necessary to backup any other directory?

Hi,
since we upgraded some hosts to PVE from 6.4 to 7.2 recently, some VMs get unresponsive when other VMs are backed up via PBS. E.g. one VM running Debian 9 had a maximum load of 6 on PVE 6 and on PVE 7.2 the load goes up to 180. We changed the IO of the VM from virtio to single SCSI / iothread=1, but no luck.

As storage local zpools consisting of RAID1 NVMe and RAID1 SATA disks (with slog on RAID1 SATA SSDs) are used.

Share printer separate LANs

Hi
I have recently succeded in adding additional NICs to the Proxmox machine. They are successfully set up as different LANs, with different /etc/pf.conf rules for each as a driving reason.
If I put the family shared printer on say 10.10.50.0 network with a precise Printer IP of 10.10.50.2, how can I give the other LANs (10.10.10.0 -10.10.40.0) clients access to see, detect and use the shared Network printer ( not a USB printer)?

I am willing to make the whole 10.10.50.0 LAN Subnet sole...

löschen mehrerer User und Gruppen gleichzeitig, wie ?

Hallo zusammen,
nach einem ldap sync möchten wir überflüssige User und Gruppen löschen.
Da diese etliche sind, wäre es gut wenn dies gehen würde -> "pveum group delete *" oder "pveum group delete AB-*", dies funktioniert leider nicht.
Frage, wie lösche ich viele User und Gruppen auf einmal, hat da ev. jemand Idee oder einen script ?

Connecting GCS/Google Cloud Storage to PBS!
