WAN NIC for pfSense VM keeps dropping connection

I have a Proxmox system running a pfSense VM that I use as my router. I have two Intel 82574L NICs, one for WAN, one for LAN. Seemingly at random, the NIC that's used as the WAN interface will drop and reacquire the link every few seconds for a few minutes. The NICs are setup as dedicated bridges, and pfSense is using the virtio drivers inside the VM. pfSense doesn't seem to see any of the drops.
