LVM PE size question

I am adding several RAID1 arrays to my Proxmox and trying to figure out the PE size of the Volume Group, I research the PE and I am still not sure what is the optimal size. I see that Proxmox uses the default of 4MB despite different drive sizes I use on different Proxmox installs ranging from 250GB to 3.5TB. Does it really matter ? I have 1TB and 3.5TB RAID1 arrays.
