Am testing a converted vSphere sever with proxmox. Prior to this it never had problems with vSphere so I believe the hardware is ok.
- Intel S2600CP Motherboard
- 64GB RAM
- New Intel 535 120GB SSD boot drive
- 6 WD Velociraptor 600GB drives connected to the MB SAS ports (experimenting with ZFS for them).
3.4 Installs fine, I update to the latest and install the 3.10.0-11-pve kernel.
But about 1 in 3 boots it fails to mount the boot partitions and hangs - which I discovered the hard way with a remote reboot :(
I have tried with ZFS and EXT4 for the boot drive.
Photo of boot screen error for a ZFS boot drive attached. A reboot after that was successful.
I believe the i8042 error refers to the USB keyboard/mouse and can be ignored.
