Proxmox installer is a piece of sh***

Although Proxmox seems a good solution and alternative to ESXi, it's installer is a piece of garbage. Never in my life I had to read so many forums to install a software.


Round 1 (Install via USB)
Can't find CDROM, lol, you're kidding right? it's 2015.


Round 2 (Read forums about this issue)
Saw that you have to do some mount tricks to make it work, worthless, I do have a CDROM.


Round 3 (Install via CDROM)
Painfully slow install, select internal USB disk, click Next: Insufficient disk space


Round 3 (Read minimum requirements)
From the oficial website:

No sh**?? Really? Well thanks Proxmox guys!!!


Round 4 (Test on virtual machine)
Seems fine.


Round 5 (Install via CDROM to USB 8Gb pendrive (as used to do with ESXi))
Insufficient disk space


Round 6 (Install via CDROM to USB 160Gb HD)
Can't boot due to Grub issues (after reading... again...)


Round 7 (Install via CDROM to SATA 250Gb HD)
Luckly I always have some spares around. Let's try again.
Can't boot. No, not an UEFI issue, neither boot order messed up.


Round 8

Enough of this sh**t for a Sunday.


Conclusion
Having web access (and other features) instead of that stupid Win vSphere Client doesn't worth the trouble. So I'm sticking with VMWare :(
Maybe when Proxmox has a decent installer, without having to read tons of posts, I'll give it a try again.

NOTE: Test machine: HP ProLiant ML110 G5, Adaptec controller with 4 disks on RAID10.
