network interfaces being deleted

Every time I create a new proxmox server, I add vmbr2 , a virtual bridge interface.

I notice that it creates /etc/network/interfaces.new , which will be applied after the reboot.

This file /etc/network/interfaces.new invariably seems to be missing some important lines. Either eth0 is getting disabled for no reason, or eth1 , or just now the lo (loopback) got deleted.

Basically, the only change which should be made is that vmbr2 is added, and that's it. Nothing else.

It looks like a bug. How to reproduce it? I have just explained that. :-) Install a fresh proxmox server, add vmbr2 from the GUI, reboot.
