ZFS send/receive full system replication to other host sufficient/possible

I've set up a PVE host with ZFS on root. Could I just do snapshots and and zfs send/receive to backup the whole system to a zfs backup server and easily restore the system in case of a disaster? Specifically reinstall Proxmox again with zfs on root and then just replicate the complete rpool with datasets from the backup to the reinstalled machine? This is a small home lab setup and I would like to stick to ZFS and not introduce Proxmox Backup Server as an additional layer - especially since...
