I'm working with a Dell PowerEdge R240. I have been banging my head against this problem for a couple of days now. The PROXMOX 8.3 installer won't see my hard disks on the H330 RAID controller. The 7.4 installer does and installs fine. I joined it to a cluster with an 8.3 host server and when I tried to migrate a VM, I couldn't because 7.4 won't run the 8.3 VM.
