Samba stopped working

I edited /etc/samba/smb.conf and added a few shares, and from my Windows machine I was able to open the Run box and type \\10.10.55.198 and it opened a folder in Explorer showing all the shares. I wasn't able to login to the ones where I hadn't set 'guest ok = yes' regardless of which username I used, but the couple of folders that I'd enabled guest access for (media and software) were browsable.
