Getting error with Home Assistant script.

I'm trying to use the Home Assistant helper script to create a vm running HA, but I keep getting the following error:
|kvm: CPU model 'host' requires KVM or HVF
/start failed: QEMU exited with code 1

[ERROR] in line 463: exit code 0: while executing command qm start $VMID
