Software RAID on Additional Discs

Hi.

I am just about to install Proxmox VE on a machine here at home. I bought 3x 3TB WD RED discs, and it was my plan that these should run in software RAID. But now I read that PVE does not support that. How come?

My plan is to install PVE on one disc, and then setup the 3 RED discs in software RAID5, and the primarily use that for my file-server. I got plans for a game server, it was my plan that it could be on the same disc as PVE.

Will that setup still give me any problems? I am asking because I don't want to run PVE on a software RAID, I just want one of my VMs to run with some data security.

I've read too, that using an SSD is a overkill as system disc. Will I not be able to tell the difference, when running, from my SSD and a regular disc?

Last question; Is it easy to resize VMs virtual discs in Proxmox, or is it practical impossible?
