If you have problems getting and IP from a DHCP server using VIRTIO over a bridge (vmbr) then your problems could be solved using the solution found in the last reply to the thread in this URL:

Symptom:
If your DHCP server logs errors like this you will most likely be struck by the problem in the above thread:
dhcpd: 5 bad udp checksums in 5 packets
