Proxmox installation (host)

Hi, I'm a new user to proxmox, networking and linux in general.

I have a few questions I cant find the answer to...

At the moment I am using vmware to create a proxmox box, and the question I have is: What should I assign my hostname to(at the install screen)?
And how can I get my domain assigned to my home server?

And also, does anybody got some good networking tutorials, preferably related to server hosting?
